It was the (tinted) black glass roof on the ES that made me go for black. I just thought it looked out of place with any other colour. Plus when you're showing it off people don't automatically see that it has a glass roof so it comes as a bit of a surprise. I've had four cars prior to this...first was a red mazda 323, then a black 323 (my favourite till now), then a red rover 400 (company car and my LEAST favorite!!), and then a black Mitsubishi Colt coupe. So of the three cars I bought two have been black. I was looking for a change and thinging of going for a dark blue but black was the only choice for me on the ES for the reasons above. Lots of work keeping it clean but well worth it!

Raegten, certainly agree with you on the glass roof + black colour, hope mine will arrive early sept. Keeping it clean is my only concern. Still, I've sometimes noticed that certain cars 'n colours seem to pull off the `slightly mucky' look quite well. Perhaps there could be another poll; which colour looks best when it's a bit dirty!

Anyone got any `non squeaky-clean' photos?

Hmmm, perhaps I should have asked that _before_ I decided on black...

I have these, downloaded from a dealer website (!):

It was the shot from the rear (that made the black plastic trim look so grey - oh no, bg alert) that made me go for Cosmic.

Yep, looks like they took it with an old phone. Eeek!

Black, to me, looks the like the best colour.
Black also, on some days, looks like the worst colour.

So I avoided the pain and went John Major.

btw, have you noticed how weird the Honda colourmap looks in the printed Civic brochure?
Mine is Champagne Silver Metallic, but when I got it last winter it looked very close to Alabaster Silver Metallic, maybe not that strong blue. But still, in the paper copy of the colourmap the Champagne looks a lot more yellow than what it is in real life, it's in fact more blue than yellow. I like this colour very much cause it kind of hides the dust and dirt, looks good even after one month of no wash.

Skaven, been thinking about your dark red Civic, I have had a go at doctoring a photo of my Milano Red, I think you can get the idea, it might look nice, if they did one.

Don't say that, my brother already thinks the full reflectors on the front and back look like a 90's Fiesta, now I've changed the colour to make it even closer a match.
