1st unknown interest

I was sitting on the driveway piddling about with the sat nav and other things when a bloke doing some work next door came round and asked about the civic! He'd been and looked at them at the local dealer and asked where I got mine... I think he went to sleep while I bored him with my story but he's definately not going to Bristol even to get a quote!

Reckons he's gonna put an order in at the weekend but wanted to speak to an owner first he was looking at mine and decided he wasnt gonna look too hard as he can only afford the SE and was gutted to see all the extras on mine in comparison He IS gonna get blueish silver after seing mine though

So my first interest outside of friends and family was positive YAY!! I hope he buys one that'll give me someone to wave at!

I'd have a chat with your dealer about your 'salesmanship'.

So did I, until they saw a courtesy car replacing it over and over again, then they soon lost interest and now just comment on why on earth have I kept it

Its embarrassing!!

I had some computer stuff delivered yesterday and the Amtrak guy that dropped it off was asking me loads of questions about my civvie sitting on the drive! He's thinking of getting one too. I hope he got to his next deliveries on time as we were chatting about it for a while!

Half of my neighbours have already got Civic`s !!

They also have Honda factory car park passes... but that`s how it goes when you live within 5 miles of the factory in Swindon !!

...not wanting to sound mean or anything, but wouldn't you rather *discourage* people from buying one? Otherwise there will soon be millions of them around. We don't really want that, do we?

Maybe if they stopped giving them to staff & sent them out to the dealers instead waiting times would drop...

Obo, I think you where unlucky, I've had no problems, issues with them at Bristol. Thought they were helpful and accomodating. For example they collected my car just before I went away on holiday and returned it warranty repaired when I came back. They will even offer you a round of golf whilst they service your car.

That was his words NOT mine henbury!!! He said "I wont look that hard cos I can only afford the SE"

steeeveee, unlucky is one mistake the mistakes were never-ending with my sale and no-one was willing to carry the can! Right down to them trying to put it off from Thursday until the following tuesday (the only reason being the salesman was off on Friday) after they'd already made me wait 2 weeks. THEN to top it off their card machine broke ("thats the first time this has happened in 5 years") when I tried to make payment and I had to wait for them to find another one!

Nope after all my problems I'm not willing to accept it was unlucky it was incompetence through and through with no excuses. I'm glad that you've never had a problem but I lost faith in them after the second time my car was set back. Obviously they arent that rubbish all the time but IMHO they've never redeemed themselves with me.

I've had two lots of interest in my car in the last few weeks.

First, someone at my wife's work was really impressed with my Civ - took him a few minutes to realise it was a 3 door and not a 5 door and he later said to my wife that he'd be interested in buying my Civ when I'm finished with it!

Then today, a woman who works near me had seen me leaving the office car park at lunchtime and came to ask me about the Civic this afternoon. She hadn't been aware of the 'new' Civic and thought it was just new on the market. She is maybe looking at buying second hand - I would imagine they will start to turn up second hand since they've been out a little while.

I also haven't counted the number of looks I've got while sitting in traffic (At the car - not me! )

Probably cos yours is an EX with 17" wheels and the ES has 16"???

You have the EX though so have more extras than them

My wife always gets asked if she works for Honda when people turn up at the door, as we have 2 parked on the drive. I have also been asked about the car by strangers while either filling up or parking in various places in Leicestershire.

They seem to be so common nowadays.. there is only the odd day in the week where i don't see at least 3 or 4.

Pulled up outside a shop I was doing a network in on Saturday and a bloke mouthed at me "nice car" and grinned

I grinned back and nodded

We seem to be getting a lot of attention a bloke was hanging out of a van tonight to see it (he might have been looking at me though you never know )

Incidentally my next door neighbour told me at the weekend the bloke that came round and looked at the car in the original post has ordered his civic he was concerned he was quoted a 9 week wait I said that seems normal and thats what I waited!
