Starting out the other day, according to my sat nav I managed 153MPH and I was only reversing out of a parking space! Damn quick these Type-R's
But my old Accord Sport was quicker! It managed 205MPH pulling away from traffic lights LOL (I think it may have something to do with the tall buildings causing signal reflections as it started up and was finding satellites though |

My new record on the German autobahn; 234kph
This went very smooth and if I had more room, I probably could've reached 238 or 240 since I was still accelarating. Coud've been a slight downhill stretch of road, or the actual speed was lower that what the dial showed. I don't have a GPS speedindicator thingy. |

Top speed 126mph
Not a big speeder and dont really believe in it but after coming into the office one morning and all the lads were asking me if ive leathered it yet? My reply was noooo i dont realy do that, so feeling a bit like a little girl i took the puppy on the motorway that night and hit 126mph in no time. Think it had a little more to give aswell but it was getting a bit blury and i didn't wanna go back to the future so i let off a little.
Not to mention the full stop in my undies.. 2.2 civic es. 07 |

A friend of mine had a 205 GTI and said that it made him a safer but faster driver. At the time I had an XR2 with a Diesel Engine installed! (don't ask as I bought it that way). Anyway I said that you didn't have to go fast to have fun and he disagreed. The outcome was a sprint challenge from his house to another friends (National limit road with lots of sharp 90+ degree bends). The outcome was an equal draw. I stayed tight up behind him bend for bend, he said it was a fluke so we did it again on the way back. This time I was infront and he arrived at the other end a whole 15 seconds after I did. It was a wild drive, but I would say that the average speed was @ 45-50mph and we certainly didn't go over 60mph. It proved that speed and a fast car isn't required to have fun! Sometimes fast cars like the CTR can make roads feel sterile. Low spec' cars can feel sporty at the same time as staying within the law!

My point is that you don't need speed or an expensive fast car to have fun. Just driving skills and a good road with lots of hairpin bends (lots and lots and lots of bends) Low Gear, Engine Screaming for mercy. Heel Toe, Heel Toe. Thats a beauty! VVVVVRRRROOOOMMMMMMMM............. |

166................kmh
the car wanted to do more but it was 11pm on a motorway turn, unable to put headlights on as truck ahead of me, so must slow down now. but what a rush. have done in the region of 145kmh a few times by motorway for brief stints. never had high revving engine before, im used to shifting at 3000-3500 rpm Its wierd, the engine is roaring at me at 5000 rpm but it can go to 6300, ive done 6000 twice. I cant wait to drive it again home from work. Maybe Ill get it up there again. Funny its real loud at 5000, and quieter at 6000?? |

I regularly enjoy 200km/h+ motoring (on the autobahn) in my Merc and some cars.
My 1,8 will have (waiting for it) a max of 205 km/h with should be 220-ish on the speedo. As soon as it is run in, v-max will be achieved (on the autobahn). What is the front-end like at these speeds? Many fwd car get very light in the front over 200km/h. |

It was good...very good. i was comfy in the pitch black on a road Ive been on twice before. The responsive steering though will keep you alert I think. Only very tiny! movements needed with this car at these speeds.
