I think that's correct.

Nothing to do with laziness, its to do with the disregard for their own safety that motorbike riders display daily. They should all be banned. Never had a problem with cyclists, they're predictable and are always afforded full courtesy.

sweeping generalisation there sir!

I can only speak for myself here, but in 20 years of motorcycle riding, I had 3 accidents:

1) driving home, early evening, lights on, residential area, definately NOT speeding. Car coming in opposite direction turned right, into a side road, with no indication, about 10 foot in front of me. I hit her (car), and rolled gently across her bonnet.

2) Completly overcooked a corner, went in WAY too fast, stood the bike upright and grabbed the brakes. Slowed bike enough to get round the corner, but my hand refused to let go of the brake (LOL) so I ended up going straight on...
In my defence, this was on a TRACK, not on the public highway

3) following a car down a residential road, again, not speeding, lights on, good distance behind him. He indicates left, as if to park. I move out (though still on my side of the road). He does a U turn. I end up coming to an abrupt halt, rear wheel in the air and almost nutting him through his window... (I stopped in time LOL, and the rear wheel bounced back down to earth )

Yes - there are some nutter bike riders out there - but there are also a lot of nutter car drivers.

And as for 'predictable cyclists' - they are obviously very different on your side of the water!
(and yes, I cycle too )

Well, we're humans, not robots. We'll all have bad moments (if not to say days) days, even though we try to widen the gap between them as much as possible.

I've been riding for 25 years. Never had an accident or mishap. Never been stopped for anything by the police, ever. I've had a lot of fun, it has improved my car driving skills, and I use less space on the road.

Should I be banned?

Nope!

The light sensor is placed with the rainsensor. I had to do some modifications with my light sensor to have my light turned on all the time. When the serviceman did this modifications I watched him do this, thats why I know where it is...

Here in Norway we drive with lights on all the time.

Just rotate the light switch to the 'ON' position

It's the sunlight sensor for the climate control.

They blended the sensor behind the mirror so it does not respond to any light differenses. Then I have the switch set to "Auto". If you set it to "ON" it does not switch off when you turn off the ignition.

The manual says something about not leaving the car for a long period of time with the switch set to "Auto". I figure they mean there's a battery drain. Do you know if this really is a problem?

I believe this means if you park your car for a long period, several weeks or months.

I have had my switch set to "auto" since I got my car in May last year and have not had any problems with the battery etc.

I believe you know (since you also are a norwegian), here in Norway we have very cold winters so the condition of the battery is very critical - I beleive I had experienced any problems during the winter if there was a problem with the switch set to "Auto"...

GHGH: You have a Civic Sport, not an Executive?

When I tried a sport before I bought my Executive this problem only seemed to be on the Executive. I believe the Sport had driving lights also on in "OFF" mode?

I asked my dealer and they confirmed this because of the xenon light on the Executive. Then they did this modification.

If you want to do this yourself, beware to stop all light to get in, if not your light will blink like an amulance if the sun shines... my did in the beginning

Yes, I have a Sport. The difference between "off" and "auto" is that in "off" position, the light sensor is disabled, so the dash lights will not dim when e.g. driving in tunnels (which happens a lot!), and only dimmed light is available.

Well, then it's "auto" from now on.

OBS!

When you do the modification I have done on my car, the sensor is DEAD!
That means it will not react if you drive in tunnels etc. I have to adjust the light with the knob on the dash... It is a bit annoying, but it's better than forgetting to set the lights "ON"

If you find a better solution please let me know!

Ha en riktig god Civic-sommer! Hilsen fra Hønefoss.
