engine noise

HI Guys,

This may sound weird. When the car is in the sun and i go to drive off i can hear 2 crank/click sounds from the engine bay, just 2 clicks, then when i slow down i hear 1 click?
It only does it in hot weather, it doesnt really bother me and its not really loud, but im just wondering what it is.
Could it be the air con, with it only happening in the warmer weather?

cheers

You sure its the engine and not the brakes or hubs making the noise? Every Honda I have owned has made a slight" click" when pulling away (only noticeable with window open) My S2000 had a Hub nut at the rear that clicked when pulling away. It was just the slight amount of play due to the thread on the nut being worn.

press the A/C button to see "A/C off" on the display and try again!
(just to make sure that not the A/C magnetic clutch gives the noise)

deffo not the air con, tried it on and off. I thought it was that at first, but now ive paid more attention i can recreate it every time i either brake hard or pull away hard, it wil give off a clear click/crank noise ( but only 1 when i pull away and 1 when i brake.
I now recon it must be either a brake/wheel problem or a stearing one? seen as it only happens when i brake/pull away or put a quarter turn on.
any ideas guys

might sounds a bit stupid but the steeringwheel can also creak...
try not to touch it or just with one-two finger very sensitive and then do your accel/brake stuff...

or driver seat noise?

if none of these show it to your dealer...

what kind of engine do you have? and model year?

Sounds like it could be something associated with the front disks, possibly pad/caliper movement.
