Question Extra room in the trunk?

From some of the pictures I've seen of the Civic, it has an extra room in the trunk, just under the floorcarpet. How big - and especially how high is this "hidden" room?

600mm x 880mm x 200mm

The 'extra' boot is not quite rectangular.

But those figures are if it was.

200mm high? Wow - should have no problems finding a small subwoofer to match that. Then I guess I don't need the Bass Works kit from Honda...

Hi,

The spare wheel goes in this space if you choose that option.

There is a thread about building a sub in that space.

And at least one thread by dissapointed Bass Works owners.

Careful now.

You must keep a place to keep your cleaning gear!

I'd love to see you trying to replace your flat tyre with a subwoofer.

Nah, I'll just get one of those sprays which can fix the tire temporarily

I have, I call it a garage

I try to avoid carrying odd's and end's in the boot unless firmly strapped down - tin of washers syndrome and all that.

I read somewhere in a danish car magazine that Honda ships the Civic with an emergency wheel (not full size) in Denmark, and not the spray kit. Can anyone confirm this?

My 1,8 sport 2007 (from December 2006) came with the can of tire-fix and a compressor, nothing but air in the “hidden room”.

My Millie gets a clean down after most journeys, and the garage then is usually many, many miles away!

A the best part of Tardis' boot is that even without the extra compartment the boot is already 20% bigger than a Golf's - including the extra compartment it whips everything in the class and even a few estates and so called MPV's.

Re what to keep in the bay, if you leave the floor lowered it is great for stopping your shopping rolling about when exploring the flat fast cornering!!!

Why do you carry all that stuff around with you? All its doing is adding weight and thus reducing fuel economy!
