How many balloons?

I could do with some answers pretty quickly on this one!!
I have to collect 40 inflated helium balloons at 5:00 today in time for a ball this evening. My dilema is, do I take the Civ with the hope they will all fit in, or try to borrow a larger car? If I do risk the Civ and they wont all fit I don't have time to make 2 trips and still get everything set up in time!
Would appreciate peoples opinions

..and how big are the baloons?
40 sounds like a lot.

How about tying them together and flying them behind the car?

Just standard size FWH. I didn't think it sounded that many until I tried to picture them in the car this morning!
Think it will help to put the seats down though. Will also have to try to stop them coming in to the front if I hacve to brake. Having said that at least I have plenty air bags!

Estimate:

8 litres per balloon at 50% loading efficiency gives 640 litres. Boot capacity is 1300 (seats down).

Conclusion:

Should be fine!

Bit late now, but if you bunged dem into rubbish sacks that could make the journey safer.

Took your advice and used wheelie bin liners. So... 40 balloons in 4 giant bin bags - no problem (had to be careful shutting the boot though!). Could maybe do 50 - 60+ but they'd have to be loose so prob not a good idea

I'd have bought a few cylinders of helium and filled the balloons where they were required. (or is that cheating??)
