Found a place for great Type R tunning
Hi guys I asked a question a few weeks ago on Honda Civic Type R tuning and found they can add at least an extra 17bhp on an Eco remap in Germany at this place SKN Tuning ChipTuning EcoTuning Turbo Kompressor MILLTEK Auspuff Fahrwerk Bremse CHIP & ECO They are a top reputable performance tuning place in Germany and they are not a small company most cars in Europe where their based are modified at SKN I know it doesn't show the 8th Gen but if they can do it on a 7th Gen I'm sure they could do the same. So on Monday I'm going to go over and ask them.
I'm guessing the Type R's standard gearbox can handle an extra 17bhp as I've owned cars before that can handle more than that as standard? So if all goes well on Monday in around a months time my Civic Type R is going to be running at 218bhp. |

The gearbox can handle more than 218 ? Mines got 372 & it runs fine & they are good for 500bhp you get this done & you are limited to what you do ? I would just save the rest & get a flash pro

I would take those figures with a pinch of salt, although tuning via ECU access is do able, what really frees up BHP in the K20 is parts. You won't get significant gains without intake, headers, cams etc.
No mapping method can get 17bhp at high rpm from a stock k20. |

17 bhp with no other mods other than the the ECU remap sounds rubbish to me. Flashpro gives all the full options like ignition timing, cam timing and fueling and it wouldnt add anywhere near that, so dont see how this is any different. |

Im just showing you all what I found and they tune DTM cars pretty well so they must have some idea. I'm gonna go in a get full details anyway to be sure.

Exactly, Flashpro on a stock yields only a couple of BHP at the top end, extra midrange yes due to lower Vtec point but thats not what these guys are quoting.

Well no harm in looking, if they can then excellent if not then no probs. I'll just crack on with my gas conversion instead.

Hi all well the update is I went to SKN and they checked through their system for the Eco remap on the engine and they said the most they can do is an extra 11% from your fuel and an extra 15bhp on top for 500 euro's. So think I'll be going on their Dyno in the not to distant future. So if I can get extra couple of bhp through air filter and exhaust I should roughly be able to get 225bhp which would be great cause I'm sure the eco tune also lowers emissions. Will get a copy to post on here of the Dyno to prove it can be done when I get it mapped. So hopefully with that ontop of my Prins Gas conversion I should hopefully have an economical pocket rocket thats low on tax. Quids in.
