Service costs for 55 plate 1.8 Petrol...

Hi guys,

Just booked my 55 plate Civic in for it's 55k service but as far as I can see last one was done at 40k in late 2010. They tell me it's a full service (Fish Brothers Honda Swindon) and that the cost is £500+! This seems steep! That of course presumes no problems...

Is that a normal amount for a full service? Even my old BMW 5 Series and Audi A3 never were much more than £400. I can afford it but that's a chunk of money no-one likes to spend randomly! Anyone know of any good private garages near Swindon that are any good?

That is a bit steep - I would have thought about £250 for a service with no additional work.

Hmm, yeah, they are a main dealer but still! It's even in Swindon so parts should be easy to get hold of...

I might have to shop around I think!

Thanks for the info link, awesome

Go to next nearest Honda dealer also Honda have that deal where they would beat all other dealers for like for like work.

Ahh good point! I'll try Chippenham as their prices looked ok on that list... Cheers!

Edit* Well Chippenham say £480! Jeez. Seems they all want to change everything, from what I can see the 40k Service had new Sparkplugs so surely not more at 55k?! I can see I'm going to have to look into this a bit more. I only thought of it as the engine doesn't always start first time if recently turned off (within minutes) and the other day seemed to be stuttering a little at steady revs, figured some things need freshening up.
