So Frustrating.
Arnold Clark are S**T....
Bought my Type R on Thursday, was told then it would be here by Tuesday (its coming in from another branch) so i phoned yesterday after hearing nothing from them only to be told Oh were expecting it on Wednesday. Phoned today and was told Oh it should be here tomorrow. If its not here tomorrow im going to threaten to just cancel the deal... I am sorry but it does not take a whole week to get a car 120 miles along a dual carriageway. It is only going from Glasgow to Aberdeen just 3 hours away from each other. Stressed and frustrated to say the least. |

which Arnold Clark in Aberdeen you are dealing with? I just bought mine from the Tullos branch (Ford) on Saturday and with the documents (PX document, T&C) there was a estimate delivery date which mine said 31st of August and my car is at the Tullos branch. Mine has to go to the Workshop and Bodyshop since they just got delivered from a different garage the night before.
hopefully you get your car soon, dude. i agree with NoNumpty re compensation. you don't get, if you don't ask. |

I can honestly say that the branch I deal with are the best I have ever encountered (Arnold Clark Toyota Stirling) they have done so much. They even fought the roof respray issue for me when my local Honda dealer (pheonix) and Honda uk both refused to fix. Took them a few months, but eventually Honda agreed, and they booked my car into Arnold Clark Honda (Kirkcaldy) got my car transported there and back and even supplied me with a courtesy car.
So I think it's all to do with each dealer, not the company as a whole. I must have been lucky enough and chose one of the good ones |

To be fair Arnold Clark are NOT my first choice, before considering them I looked up my two local Honda dealers but alas neither had any Type-Rs and i dont like buying privately so Arnold clark was the only option. It feels like arnold clark hold a monopoly up here, everywhere you go there are arnold clarks. In fact the only two honda dealers here are town and county honda (which i get **** service from) and ewens of cornhill honda which i get amazing service from, the guys are superb 100% amazing but they are 50 minutes drive north (which if they had a type R i would have had no problem driving to as thats where i got my Type S from) |

And same as you, they were never my first choice... tbh, i wasn't even looking for a Civic as i thought they would be out of my budget but the guy who i have been dealing with is really good and keep us up-to-date with every thing without us even asking, so i guess it's depending on the individual saleman. i also found them to be not willing to come speak to you when you are viewing cars (not too sure if it was because i was by myself and i don't look like i am a serious buyer.... a chinese man wearing t-shirt and jeans and with a man bag. ) which was totally opposite when i went to the Audi or even Seat garages just up the road. |

Can you remember what salesman you are dealing with? mine hasent been bad, i mean to be fair its the glasgow branch that has taken ages to send the car up so when it arrives here i can then begin to judge the service of my salesman. |

Totally different branch but my experience with Arnold Clark Nissan in Livingston was also positive. I have to admit I was apprehensive to begin with as the franchise as a whole has a bad reputation but was put at easy a little by the fact they deal in Nissans, plus the salesman was really helpful.
But I only had to go back once as I noticed the tire weld was out of date but they just sorted me out with a replacement bottle so couldn't complain. Edit: Forgot to say, I would much rather have bought from Honda but couldn't afford what they had at the time and was desperate for a car. |

Bit of an overreaction surely.. you've waited 7-8 days! In my previous experience that's about normal. Remember they have paperwork, taxing, cleaning/valeting etc. Yeah maybe they should have delivered on what they said but its hardly worth canceling.

Hehe you miss understand, it has been 7-8 days for delivery only. After it arrives here then they still need to do everything else. I think over a week just to TRANSPORT a car is deplorable

Not like it matters now anyway, the Dvla say it will be up to 4 weeks to receive the new v5c because of transferring my plate onto retention so I can't trade in my car until it is done.
