rear seat photos please?

Could a couple of kind owners put up a photo or two of the rear seats from a Type S and a Type R please?

I'm looking to compare the two, so a few different angles would be handy

thank you!

TT,

Photos here of the Type S seats folded up. I'll post some later tonight with them folded down.

Proof that the Type S has Magic Seats....

cheers pjr - that would be fab

My reason for wanting these pics:

email back from Honda (to a question of why the R doesn't have 5 belts), included the phrase
Quote:
Also the back seats are slightly different in shape compared to the 5 door resulting in only being able to fit two people, therefore the Type R will only accommodate 4 people.

TTDegs,

As promised, pics of the back seat of a Type S.

Looks pretty similar to the Type R (Except for the colour)

I thought it was just a stylistic choice - the Type-R is a hot hatch, the Type-S a 3dr small family car. Unless there's a safety rule that states a performance car such as the Type-R should only be able to seat 4 people.

Is there a centre head restraint in the Type R like there is in the Type S?

Anthony.

Slightly puzzled.
What are the benefits of folding the seats up?

Whilst not as useful as the magic seats on the 5 door, due to the more restrictive access, folding the base of the seats up could let you carry a tall piece of luggage - maybe something like a large lcd/plasma tv ?

I've been able to carry taller items which need to be kept upright and would not fit into the boot (good though the storage capacity is in the boot normally).

The all round storage capacity of the Civic is just excellent...

Anthony.

Honda are using it to aim the R at the 'performance hot hatch' market, whereas the S and the 5 door are aimed at the 'family' buyer.

My discussion point (with them) is that adding the middle belt and headrest as an option to the R would let them target both.

I, for example, am a prime target for them (or should be).

40 years old, mid life crisis time, bit of spare cash, but not enough to run a car just for the weekends.
Should be an absolute easy sell!

But we've 3 kids between us - so no R for us

(argument about R vs chipped diesel aside )

seems bizarre to me, but I'll start another thread about that in the R section
