A 'touch' "Off Topic", but since I had my 1.8 (still NA) fitted with an AEM CAI and a full Milltek 'catback' exhaust from ABP Motorsport, plus the "ECU magic" from Elite Remaps (and some other "shiny things"), I can see off any VAG 2.0 (Petrol or TD) car - and even a BMW 525i on the way home ! ...

im not so sure that you would see off any 2.0 petrol vag car....you may need quite a lot of shiny things..some of the FN2 boy's 'n' girls will struggle with some of the vag's

Well, I drove a LONG way back to Norway, after my visits to ABP Motorsport & Elite Remaps - and I had a heavy load in the back and boot - 'encountered' a lot of VAG 2.0s - beat them, albeit not by much ...

And yes, I did REALLY did "see them off" - they all pulled away at the beginning (Civics have low torque at low revs) - but, I actually did 'overhaul' them, once the revs got over 4000 rpm ...

As for the BMW 525i, well, good engine but heavy car - TOAST ! - and that on an uphill stretch ...

I think the 2.0 VAGs (NA Petrol & TDi) were trying - but it is possible they were not using the gearbox full out, whereas I am not worried about 7000 rpm in any gear - Petrol Turbos or TSi units are an unfair comparison

p.s. - I also have a throttle body spacer and digital throttle controller - every little helps !
