Be Prepared......

Well Guys.....

After a long absence from getting used to my lovely new Type S I am almost ready to help all of you empty your wallets to put together the ultimate "space cab".....

Picture my proposed setup (btw this is not a theoretical I am getting the parts together to fit.....)

Samsung Q1 Ultra (with Vista or XP Tablet Ed not decided which yet.. also for future ref...IT Guy here!!)

Brodit Proclip for Civic 06/07

Connects2

HSDPA Broadband account (Tmobile £25.00 a month - Already own) goes straight into Q1U..... Broadband anywhere.....Nice

Bluetooth GPS Reciever

The reason for this?

Because I can.... and the fact that it will look mental....

Will post pics when kit assembled with part numbers and photos (any offers to resize would be appreciated).....

It's what's known in the trade as 'Techie speak' , it's what IT people speak when they want to impress people, usually when they can't think of anything else inpressive to say. (and I should know as I'm in IT as well!)

My only question is why talk about a laptop as part of the car when you can't use it while you are driving - it's a bit like saying I've put an outboard motor in the boot to increase the overall BHP!

Hmm, I *do* understand what the OP is talking about and agree about it being mental. however, our usage of the word mental may differ somewhat.

LOL - as a techno geek, I'm thinking it sounds good!

PS - photoshop is ideal for pic resizing
I belive its possible to get hold of older versions (which still do the job) for next to nowt

I'd have thought vista would be too much for the Q1 - I'd stick to XP for performance reasons...

Like to see some photos once it's all done!

So it's a bit like us History geeks talking about Hagaelian Dialectics and how it can influence the theories of a helixical structure of time......Thats what us geeks say when we want to bore people.....

Why didn`t you buy a Type R with the extra money you are going to spend?

believe me the last thing i think about when driving my R "Is this car needs a PC!"

I suppose you could look up type R`s in your car

possible answer - maybe the laptop is interfaced via a wireless network to the voice recognition of the satnav? Maybe someone's clever enough to program new commands like "Vista, check email, read message!" or "Vista! Show footy highlights!"

Vista has full voice recognition anyway, and as a programmer it is (apparently) very easy to tap into this and customize it for your own applications.

My experience is not the same. I am very pleased with Vista. Admittedly I am using it on a powerful machine, with dual-core processor and plenty of memory.

Apart from the eye candy which is, really, neither here nor there, but "nice to have" the main improvements are under the surface with excellent security, file handling and very good stability overall.

I read that SP1 will be out after Christmas -Q1-2008 - so hopefully all those conservative people who have waited until SP1 was released, will shortly be able try it - and join those of us who use it and are happy with it.

Anthony.

Im using it on a powerful machine aswell Q6600 quad core, 4 Gig of ram and a 8800GTX. I just really wish that the 32bit versions recognised all 4 gigs rather than just 3, because im definatly not getting the 64bit version.
