Seat Belt Grabbers?
Has anybody got the same difficulty with grabbing the front seat belts in the 3 door Civic Type S. Me and OH are vertically challenged and stretching back to grab the seat belt is a pain. Anyone else suffer this or maybe got a solution.... Thanks

My mums convertable has them, it would have been so easy to add a clip like that to the seats. I'm going to see if I can rig up a mod for this.....watch this space.

I agree that they are a nuisance going 'overhand'. I have found that going 'underhand' round the side of the seat works better. Anthony. |

I think it's a great idea but the design could be better. I have spent a lot of time on many seat belt attachment type links because I am sure as mike_GT pointed out BMW do/did something similar, but try as I might I've not had much luck locally or on line. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Twisting your body round to grab overhand is pretty awkward , especially with the bolstered type R seats. |

You can (as I have done) order the above mentioned BMW part for the stupendously expensive [not] 20 quid inc VAT [actual price 19.95 inc VAT] from any BMW parts counter (I've ordered one and will see how it fits.....)
Part number is: S2300302425 "Belt Holder" Tom |

I've received my BMW ones, they come as a pair for the 20 quid and they fit great, they make it so much easier to get the seat belt, well worth it. I'll post a pic if anyones interested?

On the CTR theres knack to grabbing your belt, either place it on the actual seat at the side, when you get in or out of the car. OR while sitting in the car lean forward and bring you right arm up. Warning I will not be responsible for any pulled muscles! LOL

In the CTR I have just put the seat belt up to the highest point. I always have it at its lowest but it was being a pain feeling like I was about to break my arm!
Apart from it now being easier to grab, it also doesn't really touch the seat at the side thus hopefully stopping the wearing issue before it has started in mines |

I have just ordered Unknownsoldiers BMW ones.
If any of you have trouble with the noise of the passenger seat metal belt buckle knocking on the plastic panel, when you are driving alone, :-------- Wack on a couple of those small clear soft plastic, self adhesive kitchen door buffers, obtainable from B & Q in packs of 20 for about £1.50p. Works a treat. P.S. Ideal for sticking on the backs of mobile phones etc, to stop them sliding about. Last edited by Jack The Lad.; 29th January 2008 at 21:52. |
