You can get one from VW - it is very expensive, but comes with a free golf attached

Just kidding - no, haven't heard of anyone replacing the fuel cap.

Me with the VW comment - errr, yes.

The fuel cap comment that started theis - maybe not. Different tastes make the world.

Are you sure you mean the cap (which is hidden) and not the silver fuel flap?

Cap or flap? If the former what is the point - as it is hidden?

I don't think eddie1010, who started this thread, will be interested in colour coding his. His avatar shows a sliver CTR so his flap already is colour coded.

Why didn't they spend a couple of pence more and make them out of metal instead of very cheap looking plastic. Spoils the look just like the silver plastic bit on the back of the FRV.

craigmilleruk: i refuse to believe there arent proper aluminium or other metal petrol replacement caps, either in 1,2 or 3 parts available for the honda civic. I'm sure its just a case of looking around. If you do find one, post it here. Thanks

As it is still a fairly new car, aftermarket parts are only starting to appear.

You've just answered your own question there! The cost of manufacturing metal ones as standard would be significantly more expensive than plastic ones.
