I'm a tall guy, I've had quite a few courtesy cars and test drives inc. Golf, Polo, Corsa and the Jazz and the Jazz is the only one I actually felt comfortable in!
It's a bit small for my liking and the 1.4 is underpowered, but it's not a bad little car at all! |

We all need to remember that the Jazz despite it's tweaks here and there
is a 7 yr old design The All new Jazz is launched later this year (october(ish) from memory)and should be a big improvement on what what was ans in some eyes still is one of the best supermini's on the road today so it may be a bit long in the tooth but it is a fantastic car for the class it is in ( it was never built to compete against the civic) |

Well I made the choice from the Civ. so I shall have to see how it all goes but so far I am very pleased with the Jazz also find the build quality very good time will tell find the leather steering wheel excellent also had the centre arm rest fitted which makes a great difference and gives more stowage for me bits cant say I hyave any probs with the acceleration not a blinder by any means but it suits me as I said boy racer days gone I also find the driving position just right for me which is what it is all about really I look at it this way there will all ways be the knockers and moaners re cars and most things anyway got front fogs and aux out more than some Civs so there

Jazz had awesome brakes though! Wish my CTR brakes were half as sensitive. It wasn't a bad car, but was not good either. Still, better than walking home from the dealers eh?

I am waiting for my civic to arrive, and I have been driving my wife's Jazz for more than a year now. (after selling my beloved MX-5). I have to tell you, the Jazz is an incredible car, well, to put it correctly, it is an incredible tool.
It always surprises me for what it does... Incredibly roomy, (one of the reasons I went for the civic, for the magic seats), really comfortable in the city and in travel (I have the CVT version which is a gem really, kinda more fuel consuming though). The visibility all over is great, family (wife + 2 babies) fit just fine with an immense number of staff you have to carry with you. Small to find absolutely impossible parking spaces while having all the family and stuff with you. In general, do not criticize this car, it's easily the best in its category don't compare it with the Civic. Have you been checking for used Jazz in the classified ads lately? How many of them could you find? Hmmm... it seems NOBODY sells his/her Jazz and this is for a reason! Best Regards, Dimitris. |

I'ev got a Jazz a the mo - my civ is in for its service... IMO its a good little run around - which is what its meant to be - for pootling around town its pretty nippy, and acceleration between 0-40Mph is not that bad!?
The only gripe would be that the steering seems totally disconnected from the wheels - there is no feedback whatsoever! I have to say tho, apart from the armrest in the civic, the Jazz beats the civic hands down on the cubby hole front!!! |

armrest
Re The armrest in the civic when I traded my civ for the jazz I realised I would miss the armrest so had one fitted in the Jazz not cheap but worth it makes a world of differance as for the rest of the jazz have no beef but will agree about the steering but some thing one gets used to and also go along with what others say the build quality is very good

Ok, my turn!
Well i had a jazz for my 2nd service, was especially impressed when they pointed to the pink one in the middle (i'm a 6'3" 14stone engineer!). So i thought that it was average to drive, it handled ok, power was obviously absent... Being fairly tall though, didn't find it particularly comfortable to drive. Was much better than the Toyota Yaris that i had though, apart from the handling... The Yaris was amazing round corners, felt so similar to a Civ to be honest! Anyway, given the choice i'd rather have a fiesta! (to the Jazz that is, not my baby!) I'd give the Jazz a 5.5/10, but it is from a larger male.... |

Well lets face it the jazz is not sold as a power demon just a nice little comforable car to drive around in with the odd long run which I also found to be fine with no probs..........

I agree as I had one for 4 years. It was totally reliable with a beautiful engine and CVT gearbox with amazing economy, amazingly roomy and flexible and terrific low depreciation. A real gem of a car so it`s no wonder it`s been voted best supermini for 5 years running.

I have had several Jazz loaners, manual and auto whilst my Civic has been in for various woes ........ and in many ways its a better car than the Civic.
FAR better. Its dramatically better built, has much less road noise, rides better and as a small mainly urban runabout I think its a really cracking little car. Unfortunately a small runabout isn't what I need or believe me - I'd swap the Civic far a Jazz any day. I am about to start the quest for a Civic replacement, but regrettably the Jazz is too small and unsuited to my (almost totally extra urban) needs. |

Jazz
It may be seven years old but this is still one of the best superminis you can buy. Honda got the design spot on when they brought this to production.
Fit and finish is exemplary as is build quality. This thing is even more practical than the Civic in terms of the way space is used. It runs forever on a whiff if fuel, drives nicely, it's comfortable and everything works - what more do you need? Drive some of the competition (especially the wretched Yaris) and you'll see that the Jazz is still miles ahead, despite its age. The new one has a tough act to follow. Of course it's no Civic..... |

i thought the handling was quite solid and good round tight turns, not so good on high speed ones tho! but overall its handling and driving position was quite good for its class and for its size its HUUUUGE inside!!
BUT....i have no idea why anyone likes the CVT gearbox, for me this ruined the car. it just makes it so boring and slow with an annoying droaning engine note, and god knows what they were thinking with the paddle shift mode. maybe its better with a manual but i bloody hated that cvt crap! i was so happy when i VTEC'ed it out of the dealers in my Prelude 'running in' the new clutch |

Well it seems my posts sparked a few replys re the Jazz as I have said I find it velly nice car and I agree with all the positive remarks
I only changed to the Jazz as it was easier for me to get out more than the civic but I loved the civ and found it to be a great car and I never had any problems with it at all only the dreaded fuel cap but that was soon sorted .But I am loving the Jazz just as much now .Also I quite like the cvt box good for my left leg any tips from Jazz owners very welcome `still love the sight of a Civic coming towards me (true love never dies) |
