Advice Needed

Well my car arrived today, but the guy had major problems getting it off the back of the transporter, something on the transporter was catching on the underneath of my car.

There are a couple of deep scratches on the front valance (one on each side), do you think that there may be damage to the underneath of the car too??

Ask to have a look when they put it on the ramp.
If you're not satisfied, get assurances about the repair; if not given, then reject the car.
This type of incident is just NOT acceptable

If i saw any problems at all i would not have accepted it, but i suppose it must be exciting when you finally get it.

We pick ours up today

Get it up on a ramp at the dealers.

I have to agree, I'd have had it on the ramps before I accepted it, however since all are aware of what happened, the dealer won't be able to deny any other damage as having been caused after the car left the dealership, I hope.

If I had picked it up from the dealers then I would have refused to take it but it had been delivered to me and the dealership is over 200 miles away from me, to top it off the guy who was driving the transporter couldn't speak a word of English so didn't have a clue what I was saying!!!!

I did get straight on the phone to the guy who had been dealing with my order and told him what had happened and he's told me to take it to my local dealership and get them to phone him to organise payment for the repair!!!

I have driven it today and it seems fine to me, but hey, what do I know!!!

The important part is that you reported it immediately. Your local dealer won't be shy to replace all damaged parts and bill them for it.

Took my car to the local dealers, they checked it out and said the only damage was to the front valance and organised a replacement. Took it in for the repairs to be done only to find that there was more damage than they originally thought, apparently the brackets that hold on the headlights and front bumper have been snapped so they couldn't fix it as new lights and bumper had to be ordered!!!

A week later and i'm still waiting for them to get the parts in to fix it! Going to get on the phone to them later and see if I can hurry things up a bit.

Ouch. Hang in there - better to know everything is sorted correctly. You expect a new car to be faultless...

Thanks for that, hopefully it will be sorted before Christmas, they are just waiting on the people who I bought my car from to confirm payment in writing!

There is good news though, I have booked my car into Transform Leather and my new interior is getting fitted tomorrow, so its a day off work and a full day shopping for me!!!

I sympathise.

All that time waiting and that happens.

At least no one was hurt and the repair will have more paint on it than the rest of the car put together!

Just a quick update.......

The dealership that I bought my car from are dragging their heels over the repair of my car and i'm getting more and more annoyed as time is going on. I have spoken to the guy who I dealt with there and he is really embarassed that this is still going on but he is not in the position to authorise payment for repairs!!!

So really guys i'm no further on than I was when I took delivery of the car so I thought i'd have a rant about it on here, thanks for listening!!!!!

What about ringing Honda UK to complain? Or if you REALLY want to start rattling cages you could always threaten to go to the papers... (Crude but effective...)

Hope it gets sorted soon.

Just a quick update...

Car still not sorted, apparently the manager of the dealership that I bought my car from "left under a cloud of dust!!!" (their words, not mine) I have now spoken to the new manager, who knew nothing about my problem, and he seems to be keen to get things sorted and said he would ring me back on Monday once he had all the details....... so watch this space!!!

Don't let them get away with it, although by the looks of things you don't need me telling you that.

I still can't believe this isn't sorted yet. Good luck with the new guy.
