drivers door lock recall

Just been to my local Honda Dealer and apparently Honda have announced a recall for Civics yesterday to have a mod done on the drivers door lock. Apparently theres been some civics where the driver has not been able to open the door from the inside.

I had to have my passenger door handle replaced because it was hard to open from inside or outside. Tried WD40 at first but that did not work. Luckily they had one in stock, for a different customer, and fitted it whilst I waited, under warrenty of course.

thats interesting i should pick mine up in a couple of weeks wonder if it will need doing. ill have a word with the dealer tomorrow when i pop in to sort the paperwork out.

Mine tends to be a bit hard,and you can hear a noise from the spring when you open from outside!!
My dealer said for some kind of "special" lubrication that's needed to be done!!
Lets see...

Its probably not so much a recall as a 'fix when in for service' thing, like the fuel filler cap.

Just had my Civic's first service. Annoyingly I'd forgot its 12,500 miles, not 12,000 miles so it went in 450 miles early! They mentioned about the door lock 'fix' and mine was done. On this site to find out whats it all about. Never had a problem with my catch though.Have to say this '07' Civic is far better put together than my '55' one. That had a number of squeaks and rattles as well as two recall, the fuel filler problem and back discs. Not to mention the intermittant fuse box fault that cause the car to cut out. This one had no faults to report so I was surprised to hear about the lock recall.
