Thumbs down Packing on my 18month old car

After reading the new car check list I though I'd apply it to my used civic and sure enough I found the packing still on the jacking points! How can a car that supposedly passed its PDI (I have the original paperwork) and also been serviced so probably been on a ramp still have the packing in place!

Oh my! You would have thought that someone would have picked this up at a service, but then they probably would have hit you with a bill for removing them!

Put them in a little bag and take them down to your dealer and say "these just fell of my car! it is under warranty! how quickly can you put them back?"

I asked a mechanic at my dealer here at Greece and said they are to be left there...
Didn't explain why and i don't see any reason to leave them there...
Anyway...
Have to mention though that i don't trust my dealer that much..

well they were soaking wet as they are a foam like packing so I doubt very much they should be left on.

My dealer told me just the opposite.. No need for them from the moment you were handled the car. Still doesn't explain why they weren't taken off before, but that's no big deal. Just leaves a question mark in your mind for some minutes until you get the reply.
I guess your mechanic was too lazy to bend down and take them off...

Tis "The Dream Of Honda".
Take them off, coz they should not have been left on the car.
