4 Brand new CTR's for sale with immediate delivery!

Popped into Kilmarnock's A.Clark Honda dealer today with regards to my filler cap failing to open yet again. Cap spring mod not helping much. They adjusted the cable connecting it to the cap. It now seems to open ok. Well for how long who know's..

So while I was in and sitting about the showroom I got chatting to one of the salesman there who I know from years back, he asked me how I was likin my new Civic.. He spotted me having a look and a sit in a new CTR in black in the showroom. Dream.. Dream..

He told me they have 4 CTR's with delivery milage sitting waiting for someone to purchase... 2x black, 1x silver and 1x red one. They were sitting outside along the front of the showroom apart from one of the black ones which was inside.

All going for £16988 each. There the basic CTR without the air-con and fog's with delivery milage ie next nothing... The Black CTR model in the showroom was number 8003 if my memory serves me right.

Thought I would spread the word if there's Civic fan's out there on a waiting list for a new CTR. By reading the threads there seems to be a few waiting ages for a new CTR but I guess there for the GT version with all the toy's.

So if you want a new CTR with immediate delivery then give them a look.

You should be able to talk them down a bit on the asking price.

Nice find....I would defo try and bargain the red one down in price, as it is the standard colour and the other two colours are optional and therefore should cost more.

So who gonna cancel there order and drive to Scotland................

Well spotted, I didn't see the Arnold Clark reference. For the sake of saving a few hundred pounds I wouldn't buy from them, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with buying from them, I never have, but for such a big purchase and such a small saving then I'd go with the main dealers everytime.

I wonder where they have had them from anyway.

I must admit, from what I've heard it's the "pile em high, sell em cheap" mentality, with little regards for customer service or satisfaction. With poor product knowledge and after sales service.

And God help you if you are buying one of their "cheap" cars and wanting to part-ex. Then it's not cheap.

Like I say though I've never bought from them, but someone must, cos they seem quite successful, just not for me.

If your on the 'waiting list' for the CTR, then you will have probably paid anything between £500 and £1000 to secure the car so you wouldn't chuck that money away.

It doesn't really matter if you order a Basic CTR or the GT, everyone has to wait their turn. If I didn't already have one i'd maybe consider buying from them for the fact that I live nowhere near killie and i'd be making sure I registered it with my local dealer. I only orde a GT cause of the fogs and dual zone climate control (me and my mum have a difference of opinion when it comes to temp)

If your going to spend £17/18K on a car you would be mad not to go for the GT

You are indeed correct. If your own cash then yes. A guy who works for my Dad has a basic CTR cause its his company car, otherwise he would have had the GT version

It sounds like a good deal if you want immediate delivery however:

I agree with everyone else about going for the GT model with aircon. You will struggle to re sell the non GT model even if you dont need air con. I was offered a similar price for a non GT model in stock at a Perth dealer (cancelled customer order which tells you something). Haggle hard, even at that price.

Arnold Clark would not be my first choice of dealer.

My CTR GT arrived early after 2 months of ordering it, it was due a cancelled order, something about the person not coming up with the money! You could be lucky like me, it does happen!

I would nt bother with the non GT, you will have problems selling it and for the sake of £1000 you get alot for it. I am now thinking of taking out the Honda Happiness Service policy for £500, it basically covers 5 years servicing and will save you money in the long run.
