A few different questions

Hi there

I have a Civic 1.8 Sport and now I have a few questions:

- Is it possible to "remove" the seat belt warning and the "ignition key" warning? I like to keep the key in the ignition when I am out of the car and my wife listen to the stereo and I like to move the car on a parking space without wearing the seatbelt.

- Is it possible to adjust the computer? Mine is app. 8-10 % off and too optimistic.

- I am not impressed by the gearchange. In some tests the gearchange is found very good but my gearchange is a bit "bulky" (is that what you call it?). Is it possible to adjust it?

- Are you interested in some kind of "Civinfo-offer" on tuningboxes? I am the Danish importeur of H. & N. Electronics tuningboxes from Germany and maybe I can make a fine offer?

As a dieseltuning-specialist I would have prefered the 2.2iCDTi but here in Denmark the extra cost over the 1.8 petrol is 8.000 £. Can you believe it?

In order..

1. Not easily. It MAY be changable in the ECU/system settings, but certainly not as a user-changable thing. It's to do with the NCAP rating.

2. See 1

3. Gearchange is very nice indeed, and loosens up significantly over time.

4. Definitely, if you think it is useful. PM me or Pottsy.

I am used to Seat's and with VAGCOM it is easy to remove the warnings and to adjust the computer. I have turned a lot of Altea's from EURONCAP 5-star cars to 4-star cars
I will ask some of my customers and dealers about their experiences with the box for CDTi and I will also talk with the germans about the possibility. But it shouldn't be a problem as it seems that they have no distributor in England.

It's just not possible from a user point of view.

No it seems so. However I prefer the Civic over the Altea and the Toledo. It's a much better car and it does 39MPG. Very nice for a petrol. The looks, the space, the economy, the performance and the steering... Makes the Leon look like an old car.

BG I thought there was something in the diagostics menu (3 finger salute) where it was possible to change or 'Tune' the tire size and therfore reduce the error on mpg and distance recording.

There are some settings in there, but they do not DIRECTLY fix the accuracy. btw, the speedo overreads by a similar amount to other speedos, but you notice it more due to the more discrete values of a digital display.
