Cancelling my Civic!!!

Well guys, there's no easy way to say it but i'm cancelling my civic!

After thinking more and more about my requirements (and finances) I've decided it would be too impracticle to run two cars (the civic and my 350z).

Therefore, I've decided to spend less money on upgrading my 350z to the new Audi TT. Ideally I didn't want to do this but I've become very annoyed with Nissan lately and really want to swap to a better marque.

I suppose it's a good thing that my car has taken so long as it has given me time to rethink!

However that doesn't mean I don't like the civic or that I don't support the site. I think this is a great site and I hope to still be able to contribute as an admirer!

P.S. Here's a photo of the car i'm getting

I hope you enjoy your new TT, when does it arrive? What kind of kit do you get with it?

Best of luck with your new choice!

I have always quite liked the TT, which model are you getting. I guess the big lump is more like your 350Z.

Good luck with it - I am sure it will be great. Just one word of caution though, have you checked the Audi service costs ?

I think there's enough room on the back of a TT for your CivInfo sticker...

... we can play 'Spot the TT' !

I got told off when I did that in the Civic spotting thread

ads - as long as you never expect anyone in the back of the TT for more than 5 mins, you will love it

3.2 is a great engine, coupled with DSG is fantastic

Not driven the new shape one (yet, I'm sure I can blag a go at the next TTOC meet I turn up to, as long as I park round the corner ), but everyone is agreeing that it's better than he 'old' one

Altho I own a civic, I would go for the new TT if I had a choice. I think Audi cars are better built, and its stronger.

I love the lights on the wrong, I actually saw about 4-5 of those today, all of which 56 plate

Nice to hear your getting one!

P.s what colour you getting?

Regards Dan

I must resist

Had it not been for the need for carrying 4 passengers on occasion, I'd be driving one of these now

but having said that, instead I'm enjoying almost double the mpg (my TT was doing about 28 to the gallon), with acres more space, and on the twisty bits it (feels at least) just as quick as my TT did

Oh - and I'm saving a shed load of £s per month on the lease too

All round, I'm well happy that I made the swap - but still get the odd pang when I see a TT (new or old shape) going past

PS - all new shape TTs will be 56 plates, as they were only available this month.
Unless you see a naughtly pre-registered one anyway

possibly

although at the time I left the TT Owners Club, talk was that the UK were going to get the first batch... *

That may not have been the case - I've been deliberately avoiding any TT related forums for a few months now, and (rightly so) my access to the TT Owners Club committee forum was removed

* this was back in late '05

Hey guys!

Thanks for the replies (and resisting throwing stones at me!! )

I won't be getting the car till February next year.
I ordered the 3.2 with DSG (after test driving it) and it is an amazing ride. Even faster than my 350 and more economical (over 30mpg compared to just under 19mpg!). I've ordered it in Suzyka Gray which is a kind of pearlescent white colour. Looks amazing!!

With regards to service costs, they aren't any worse than the 350 so i'm not too fussed about that!

I might post some pictures of it when I get it. (Unless there are any objections!)

I haven't had any real major problems with the 350, only a few common issues which can be sorted out with the help of the 350z forum. However, Nissan poses the major problem! I had major headaches dealing with Nissan and considering the 350 is their top of the range car, they offer extremely poor customer service! If you can get over the Nissan thing then I would definitly recommend them. I loved the car and it was great driving, it's just a shame that Nissan are very bad! (P.S. I'm selling my 350 if she's interested!)

19mpg is pretty average. I only drive it hard on occassions, most of the time I just drive conservatively to save on fuel!!

Can't get the Subaru as an automatic, also I really wanted to deal with a premium marque such as Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc. (mainly to avoid similar problems I experienced with Nissan!)

Also, not really a fan of the Scooby!

OK, I think I understand you, but NEVER compare a Nissan to a SUBARU!!!
They are two completely different things!!
SUBARU is a rally legend and a Nissan is just a Nissan (as you also experienced! )

Just had a look at my old Excel file - and did an average of 27 mpg in my Z (coupe).

Sorry to see you won't be joining in the fun - I reckon a Z and a Civ would be a nice combo - I'm holding back on the TT gags...

And here's a couple of photos for fun - look what you'll be missing!
