Why am I sad; I should be happy?

Well I've decided to change my EX and I should be pleased as the new car arrives mid July, but I feel like I'm leaving an exclusive club of like minded people.

I shall still dote over my new car as I have my EX but somehow it won't feel the same as coming on here several times a day just to see what's happening and feeling part of a community.

In the early days it was magical as we were all finding out about the Civic and making changes. Helping each other was great as we all learned at the same time as sharing knowledge.

I hope my contribution has been helpful as well as funny on occasions.

Thanks to the production team for all the help and advice, may Civinfo continue and get stronger.

Best wishes, Al.

Oh, all right then....................I've gone for a Nissan Qashqai Tekna 2.0 (Petrol) Auto in Blade Silver (can you open a Qashqai section please ).

I had a test drive and just loved it (and I reckoned CVT Auto was rubbish <it was on a Merc I tried> but the CVT on the Qashqai is just brilliant).

Al.

PS: CR-V is just too big to fit comfortably in our garage, otherwise it may well have been the chosen one.

PPS:....and it comes with a flip key that you don't need to use, you just keep it in your pocket. You only need to flip it if the key-fob battery goes a bit flat. Oh; and a rear wiper......and lots more besides.

Allan,

You're in good company. I traded my Civic in for a Qashqai +2 and I must say I don't miss the Civic at all now.

The Nissan is everything the Civic should have been reliability wise. No rattles, shakes and everything feels like it'll last for years to come.

I didn't go for the top-of-the-range Tekna, but I do have a big panoramic roof which my little girl loves telling me to open all the time!

The ride is also much more composed and, although it doesn't corner like it's on rails, the handling is very tidy and communicative.

Is there anything I miss about the Civ? Well, I still love the speedo arrangement, folding mirrors and the magic seats. Aside from those though, I think the Nissan is a genuinely superior car. And, to my eyes, it doesn't look bad either!

Hope you enjoy the new car.

Don't be a stranger - it was thanks to you I got my leather sorted out last year. Car still smells of leather and I don't get static shocks anymore. Does the Qashqai come with leather seats?

Yes, full leather as well as folding door mirrors and a self dimming interior mirror. Full panoramic sunroof also and full size spare wheel.

Oh, and reversing camera and I'm having front distance sensors as well.

The big bonus is that it can be used like a giant skate board (according to the advert).

This is Blade Silver:

PS: This one shows off the new 18" wheels that will be on mine:

I've just checked but still can't see a Qashqai section yet.

How long will it take?

Hi Alan,
Well like me you decided to stay with the japs, can't say I blame you as I have just exchanged my Civic for a Shogun!
Best wishes mate.
