Bye Bye Type S

Well, after 7 months of very pleasurable diesel driving, my Type S is moving on next Tuesday....

Several reasons for this, nothing to do the with car really, just personal circumstances. I need something with 5 doors and, as I have now moved due to work, my commute has had about 180 miles a week chopped off it, so I was after what i really wanted in the first place which was a bona fide hot hatch!

Anyway getting the new motor on Tuesday...Mazda 3 MPS, fastest hot hatch on the road, Type R drivers bring it on!!! (joke).

A big thank you to everybody on this forum...you were extremely helpful when it came to buying the Type S and I shall miss Civinfo a great deal!

As I said, no qualms at all with the car, its been way better than I hoped for. I am however looking forward to 0-60 in 5.9 secs

Catch you around guys and drive safely,

Loz.

very nice car, but only the exterior is not agressive enough when you compare it to the power

Thanks guys, I'll let you know how the MPS goes!!
Worth saying at this point that I did test drive the Type R and thought it to be great car...only downsides were the 3 doors and the fact I'm too lazy to drive it properly i.e. its too much hard work for a slacker like me to make use of it properly!!
The other thing is that Honda really screwed me on the trade in price and several dealers, notably GUILDFORD HONDA, were extremely rude to me when i told them I wasn't interested in losing 5k of my own money...they basically accused me of wasting their time after I told them I couldnt do a deal at that price. Have to say, their attitude has really put me off Hondas for life.
Also drove the Focus ST..complete cr*p, why people rave over this car I'll never know...it didnt feel any faster than my Type S! Horrid interior too compared to the CTR.
Did the Cupra too...very nice, not as refined as the CTR but still a great little car.
MPS won in the end becuse I got a good deal on a 56 plate, proper Ipod connection, stupidly fast and it was the only one whose spec was anywhere near the Civic. No cruise control but other goodies like Bose 8 speaker stereo etc.
Anyway, cheers again, I hope this hasnt bored you! Just thought I'd share some info with you!

Picked up the MPS today.
I was truthfully really upset when I said goodbye to my Civic..it has been a great car and performed faultlessly and you cant really compare it to the MPS because they're so different.
Although the MPS is nowhere near as striking visually it is an absolute monster on the road...havent thrashed it to death but then you dont need to as theres so much torque.

Been a pleasure frequenting this site...no goodbye, just au revoir.

P.s if you think the ipod connection is rubbish in the Civic, you should try the Mazda one...way more functionality...unfortunately nobody seems to have any idea how to make the bloody thing work !!
