Glad its gone
After getting rid of my year old Civic and buying a VW Touran I have had six months without spending my time visting the local dealer
I moved to France so with the bad vision it was not possible to keep the civic The service from my local VW dealer has been what I expected from Honda After reading some of the forum post's things don't seem to have changed So all I can say was I wish I never bought A British Made Honda who's Customer Service is Rubbish |

Geoff,
Been a long time - How is France ? The VW touran is boring boring boring it uses less complicated electronics there are numerous people on here who would rather own a Honda civic than a golf or a VW for that matter you will be pleased to know that both our Honda's (civic & Cr-V - both swindon built) are running like a dream without any issues ( and I am not the only owner who is over the moon so much so they have traded their first civic in for an all new one !!! anyway what is a VW owner doing on this site Take care Geoff Last edited by Brodick; 17th October 2007 at 18:04. I can't wait to get rid of mine, if it wasn't for the financial loss involved in changing early it would have gone a long time ago!!!
The question is - BMW 1, Seat Leon, Merc A or other??! I pitty whoever gets my car next (especially when it falls out of warranty!) Do I have a legal obligation to list all the problems when it comes to selling the car - I'm stuffed again if I have to!! And then, when, not if, I go to another brand's dealer - how will I be able to resist mentioning how crap the Civic is - again making the part-ex value decrease!!! |

Hey Geoff,
glad to hear you're getting trouble-free running and decent customer service. I'm envious you had the means to offload your Civic; at times I feel like getting shut of mine but couldn't really take the financial "hit", which would probably be at least a couple of grand. You'll be "pleased" to hear that things aren't improving for some of us 06 model owners: my rear shocks are creaking again and the car's back at the dealer for something like the tenth or eleventh time next week... Still think my car looks better than yours though Last edited by JB75; 17th October 2007 at 19:12. Reason: speling musteak |

I could go off on long rant about how good the civic is (but I won't because I don't need to
The build could be better - but it is still one of the best small hatchbacks on the market today - there are far far far worse cars out there |

Well - I wish I could get shot of mine! Its back at the (always helpful) dealer next week - Lost count but 7th time?
Dealer pretty helpful, but Honda UK .... poor quality ....... poor components, couldn't care less attitude. Come on Honda Japan - lets see some UK management heads rolling and some real Honda quality here in the UK - courtesy Honda Japan. I owned several British Leyland cars from the 'worst' period. NONE were this badly made, or had as poor back up from the manufacturer |

Please do tell which cars and why they are worse please For instance name me one car that has been built with the following problems; faulty shocks, radio, batteries, sub frame, rear tailgate struts, poor paint, steering rack (I dont believe I am the first with this problem) fuel filler cap, handbrake, climate control, endless rattles Zzzzzzzzzz oh I fell asleep, Oh I know the name of it - its a civic !!! And before you go off on one about how perfect your mum's civic is remember that many others are not perfect and have had more than one issue. Nice looking car - far too many problems to be classed as teething problems - extremely poor customer service from HUK and many issues are taking far too long to rectify - so Broders |

Hmm!
Are we talking about the same car as I am a proud owner of here, or some Lada or Wartburg.......sorry I'm a bit confused.. This tends to be ridiculous...! Last edited by amronno; 17th October 2007 at 23:10. |

There isn't a car in the world thats perfect and without its problems.
I have a cousin in the Smoke, who is on his 3rd new roller, not that he wanted any of them, but as he started with nothing and made his fortune selling motor spares, his wife wanted them to show off. They certainly have not been trouble free. |

TC stop causing trouble ( I know you are good at it - but stop it)
I am not going to play your little games The owners survey on here speaks volumes as does the fact that people are already buying their second all new civic - people who may have had a couple of issues even but know that the civic is still a good car Owners of Focus's golf's leon's octavia's 1 series, a3's have issues aswell ( and I bet that if Ford, VW, Seat, Skoda, BMW, Audi had built this car they would have had the same if not more problems than Honda had with the early cars) yes when you had your focus you say you were very happy with it and I am sure other people were happy with theirs aswell but there were also a lot of unhappy focus owners it is a small group of people on here who seems to have been unlucky enough to receive problematic cars ( it is usually the same name that keep appearing) I have always agreed that HUK should be looking after these customers instead of offering poor customer service aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggg ( I give up there is just no telling some folk) ( and just for the record missie I bought my Mum her civic she is happy with it I drive it at every oportunity I get ( not that I don't love driving my CR-V) |
