Dr Colorchip Group Buy (Ended)

Hello all this will be my first post although been a secret reader for a while now.
Spent the best part of today with CTR GT and meguirs clay, tar remover, detailing spray, gloss wax.
But what i really need is the amazing Dr colourchip. As i said im new to this and was wondering if anyone would like to get a group buy going. best time of year to do it what with the big yellow thing up in the sky for more than a day now.

What do you think??
Anyone keen in organising it?

I suggested this to a few members with little interest.

Then I was lucky and got the kit from a member who sold his car. All I can say is it's a great product.

Good luck with the Group Buy.

I've just been looking on the DrColorchip website. It's the postage cost that is the problem if you are ordering just one kit.

The Road Rash kit priced at $59 seems to be the best value. Including shipping this comes to $107.72 which at todays Paypal exchange rate is £66.25.

If more than two kits are ordered there is a 10% discount but it would seem that if 10 or more kits are ordered the shipping cost is free.
When you include the 10% discount this means that the Road Rash kit can be bought for £32.66.

It would be worth checking with them that the free postage isn't just an error in their checkout system.

If it is correct all you need then is someone to organise this who is willing to order the kits and work out a postage cost for posting them on to the buyers once they arrive in the UK.

This is the reply I have received...

On Group buys to the UK of 10 or more kits we offer a 10% discount off of the purchase price of the kit. The bigger savings is on the shipping. Shipping is NOT free, but we do ship group buys typically to a single address in the U.K. and then the person who receives the kits uses the local postal service to send the kits to the end user. On group buys of 10 or more we are usually able to get the larger package containing all the kits to the address in the UK for distribution. The charge generally averages about $9 per kit when handled this way. We do not include the cost of locally distributing the packages once they are in the U.K. to the buyers. We would look to the coordinator of the group buy to handle that end of the shipment. We just did a smaller group buy of 10 kits and the average per kit cost came in at about $64. This include the shipping to the UK but did not include the local delivery costs to each individuals address. On these group buys we ask that you provide us with a list of the participants names along with an email address. We will send an emailed invoice to each of the participants. We must receive payment on the buyers order or they will not be included in the group buy. We would also need to know who we would be sending the bulk package to. Hope this answers your questions. Thank you.

This means that one kit would be approximately £39 delivered to the UK. Add to that the onward postage cost from the group buy coordinator to each buyer, say a fiver, and the total cost would be around £44.

Obviously there would be a little work involved for the coordinator but he/she would receive their kit first and only have to pay £39. Also bear in mind he/she wouldn't have the inconvenience of collecting the payments from everyone for the kits, only the postage cost. Responsibility of dealing with the paint codes when ordering will lie with the buyers as DrColorchip sales will be invoicing each buyer individually.

Thumbs up

Excellent work Dimplyred, all we need now is a co-ordinator to start the ball rolling.

You could start by making a list as you'll need at least ten buyers.
