FMIC kit for the civic 2.2
As some of you may have read a few of us diesel owners have helped to put together an off the shelf FMIC kit which will contain everything required to fit the FMIC to your car, all hoses and clips will be supplied along with the largest intercooler possible to fit in the space behind the lower grill. Dan at Universal Intercoolers is able to offer this kit at £295 including delivery for a group buy of 10 or £325 on an individual basis which im sure you will agree is an excellent price!

What can I expect from this mod?
From a theoretical point of view I'd say: cooler intake air = more dense air = more fuel/air mixture in the cylinders = extra power. But what does the ECU think of that? Do we need a remap? I might be interested, but then it has to serve a pupose. I don't want it just for the bling of it... K. |

Quote:
1. Air Charge temperature. 2. Pressure drop across the FMIC. If the FMIC flow design is good and the crossflow design works.. ..the pressure drop across it will be less. If the pressure drop is less you get gains across the board at any speed. The engine sucks up air more easily... ..the turbo has less work to do to provide the required boost. If the air charge temperature drops you get more power across the rpm but only really at speed. While your crawling along the air charge temp wont be massively different from stock. As their is no air movement to take the heat away from the FMIC and reduce charge temperature. Wether you need a remap depends on how different the flow is by fitting this intercooler setup. If it makes a massive differnce you should get a remap. Last edited by Relic; 7th June 2010 at 13:43. |
