Lightbulb Type R Skirts, Arches etc

Ladies and Gents!

I know there are a few of you looking for Type R skirts, arches and other bits so I thought I’d start a new group buy and see where it gets us. It’s expensive stuff, but hopefully if enough of us group together we may be able to save a bit of cash. I think we’re looking around the £500 mark, so aim for that figure and anything less is a bonus. There isn’t much to save by getting Type S kit and you could be waiting forever and a day for second hand stuff to become available, all the while driving round in a standard car or looking like a poor boy racer.
Obviously colours are limited so you may have to opt for the Type S kit and get is sprayed.

If we can stick to the basic parts (splitters, arches & skirts) for the group buy please and then discuss any other parts as a separate issue it’ll work out better. I know someone on here makes the reflectors at a fraction of the cost, and I’m not sure everyone will need the exhaust triangles. If the majority do then put it on the list (in brackets). I have a contact for second hand triangles so may sort that as a separate group buy for those interested.

If you’re serious and will be able to commit then stick your name down and I’ll work out a deal based on final numbers. I’ll give it 2 weeks and then approach different companies to see if they can do us a deal. I’ll PM everyone on the list with the prices at which point at least a deposit will need to be paid to secure the kit and stop time wasters. I’ll allow plenty of time for people’s pay days and money borrowing to be sorted!

If its anything like the GP kit group buy it’ll be a success and everyone will be happy!

Awesome.

I have sent a PM to Dan @ Cox Honda (before this thread started) asking about a group buy, and also about what sort of individual deal he could do me. However I'm more than happy to come in on a group buy, especially if it works out cheaper!

I only actually need three arches and the skirts .... have everything else!

So for my 5 door would these CTR arches and skirts fit the GP pack or should I just wait out for a full GP pack(front / rear splitters) ?.

I think there is some confusion over this and i'm not 100% sure myself. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The GP kit is front and rear splitters, direct replacement for the Type R parts. In order for them to fit onto a 5 door (like mine) you need the arches and skirts from a CTR. they are flared a bit wider where they join, and are obviously colour coded.

the 5 Door GP kit is actually the Style/City package or something like than.

Yup it can get a bit confusing. So on the Grand Prix GB I take it they were solely front and rear splitters and what price were the buyers getting them for ?.

If I knew I could get away with CTR Skirts/arches then I would go for splitters too.

will help you all out a bit

5 door: if you want gp or type r front and rear splitters u need the type r/s arches and side skirts

type r/s side skirts need to be adapted for the 5 door as you will be left with a gap at the back doors
(not visible when doors are closed)

3 door type s: already has the type r kit just no colour coded, gp kit will fit without buying arches and skirts

hope this helps

the GP kit group buy is over now although Dan will probably still help you out. GP kit was just the front and back splitters, £570.
If you wanted the full kit i can see what i can work out for you?

Haha, GP kit is just the front and rear splitters. Everything else is seperate. All these parts are wider than the 5 door bits.

OK.

The type R GP kit will fit a type r or a 5DR modified with type r side skirts and wheel arches

The GP kit for a 5DR will fit a 5DR without the type r side skirts and wheel arches

The GP kit priced at £570 odd will have only the splitters. If you buy the 5dr version you're set.

If you buy the type r version, you'll need to have type r: side skirts, wheel arches, reflectors and exhaust triangles. Unless you have a type r or type s

Also interested to see how this turns out - from what ive learnt on this site I don't know if there is a dedicated GP Pack for the 5 door - just the image pack... Image pack for 5 door will fit straight on with no other modifications... GP Kit as mentioned required R arches & skirts to fit properly.
