Picks up a little earlier and feels more responsive especially noticeable before the turbo kicks in.

All adds to the Celtic effect!

i now have a pipercross trade account due to doing the ground work for this order,i can even dropship the filters for £39.95,if buyers want to wait a week or so until i get orders of 5 filters (for any type of car)i can do them for the £36.50 the same as the groupbuy price.

i have just done around 130 miles today travelling over very hilly roads to the aboyne highland games ,i was very impressd as this road makes you work the cars brakes and engine as it is very steep in parts, before i left i reset the trip meter and was very happy when i returned home and had averaged 52.4 mpgi must say it accelerates even better than my first thoughts

I'm gonna throw a spanner in the works now.....

I prefer the Honda OEM filter. I think I get more torque and better throttle response.

There...... I said it.

Could this be because your car has been remapped though?
Obviously remaps are generally specific to the spec of the car, and therefore would not take into account the filter.
I bet if you had a map with the filter on, you would probably find better response and potentially more power than with standard kit....
Just my opinion though!

My last car had the OEM filter attached when the car was remapped..I later added the new filter (Green panel) and there was a noticable difference....you may be experiencing a placebo effect........?

remap

if your car has been remapped you probably wont see a difference or it could be worse as the remap has been done with standard airflow, the pipercross air filter gives you up to 30% better airflow so your map is not matched ,now that i have got the filter on with my tuning unit it is far more responsive as tuning boxes benefit having a performance filter in fact my supplier advise you to fit a performance filter that is why i put myself forward for the group buy so that i now have a trade account with pipercross.i have always had the intention to get my car dynoed ,i think i will definately get it done now,i have had a buyer with an astra who fitted a digital unit and a filter and had his car dynoed at 197hp from 150 standard,my supplier claimed 184hp with the unit itself

Mine came on Saturday 9am. It took me 30secs to put it on. Very easy job. I also had my car remapped by Celtic some time ago, not sure if there is much difference after fitting the filter. There is a bit, that's for sure. But with that much of power now you can't really say unless you take it for dyno run. The engine responds a bit better and sounds a bit deeper. I will take for longer spin tomorrow and see what is the real difference. Over all I'm happy

Finally got mine from the sorting office.
Initial impressions are very favourable...
It appears to rev slightly higher..
Acceleration too appears to be a little better as does throttle response..
None of this is massive but there IS a difference..
No apparant accoustic differences noted..I expected there would be.
Was it worth the cost and the hassle?....OH YES!!
Many thanks Javorb and Pipercross

Many thanks for your efforts Javorb

Engine certainly feels 'looser' with the Pipercross.
Stock map on mine at the moment but the car certainly feels less breathless.

Not surprising when the two are side by side.

The rev counter certainly whips round the rev counter faster and the all important top end (or lack of it on a 2.2) seems much more energetic.

For the price who could argue

Again..Thanks Javorb

Mine arrived yesterday and I've just fitted it now. Took all of 30 seconds to fit and took it on a quick blast (and will drive it again later this evening) - there is a definite change in the turbo whistle as well as generally breathing much freer. There is a definite improvement in throttle response and I would agree it revs better after 3000 rpm.

I plan to change back to my old filter and go on a planned route, swap to new and repeat the route then report back on my thoughts!

Certainly first impressions are very good!

Just fitted mine now and................WOW! There is definitely a difference in pick up, she accelerates now without getting out of breathe and the exhaust note is ever so slightly deeper upto 3000 rpm. Not much but both me and the wife noticed it (did the carpark test as not many tunnels round here)

I find it not as deep - or rather there is more of a whisp from the airbox under acceleration - you can tell its breathing much better

I'm getting better MPG..I drove up to my parents' today via the A64 to near Malton, driving briskly where permittable and stuck in queues at times in towns and behind Albert and Ada in their 'Jazz'.
The car returned 53.8 MPG..

Fitted mine over the weekend and as previous posts pick up etc appears to be better. Did a 300 mile journey yesterday and managed 58.4 mpg on the way there and 53.3 on the way back. That was both motorway and normal A/B roads stuck behind every farm impliment that could get onto the roads at one stage.
