Thanks Javorb,

Finally got around to fitting mine today, i've noticed a slight improvement in pick up, but a big improvement in fuel economy?! where i used to get 45mpg i'm now getting 49/50mpg - long may it continue

got around to driving mine today. you can definately hear the air flow now filled up over the weekend so i jusst need to check my mpg now its looking better already though and it definately picks up better. (it was fun to get the filter in though due to the wires strapped to the back of the filterbox.)

it is nice when forum members support the forum
they wait until the hard work is done and reap the benefits

Lets get this right i dont support the forum by taking part in a group buy?How did that support the forum

I reap the benefits by paying more for my filter than you are punting them around for
I did not get in on the group buy as i was not following the thread until it was too late and people were already waiting for the deliveries.
I paid more for my filter so i did not get accused of reaping the benefits!

If anyone wants to buy a product through a specific channel, surely this is their choice?

Lets not quibble how people bought the filter! Its personal choice whether you partake in group buys or not.
For instance, I'd have to think long and hard before doing another one myself.

Anyhow...back to the filter !
Went on a longish run yesterday over to Longleat which was A & B roads only, varied terrain and some quick blasts to get past slow moving lorries where possible! Saw ecomony level around 47mpg, which I was impressed with as I wasnt being particularly light footed.
There is certainly much more audible noise from the air filter as the turbo sucks in more air, for a passenger this could become quite tiresome on a longer journey (though my passenger didn't complain!).
The car seems much more comfortable to rev now - there's less sense of losing power when going over 3000rpm.
Response is much improved aswell. Coming out of a 2nd gear corner is better in that there is less delay between throttle and getting that big surge of torque. The car is also a little smoother because you get the response when you want it and don't need to adjust your right foot.

Switching back to the original filter and going round the same corner proved this for me; and on the straight after it I really noticed that it wasn't reving as easliy / quickly. Infact at around 3500 rpm I'm sure I noticed a marked kick, but I think I'll have to repeat the test to confirm this.
Difference in speed? Yes (though I wasn't using a speed strap or anything!!). My speed with the filter was ~ 4mph higher at the same point than with the original filter (this was about 200 yards from the 2nd gear corner above) and taken I shifted from 2nd - 3rd gear (so in other words when I needed to shift gears I noted the speed).
I used the same entrance speed to the corner, same balanced throttle through and full throttle out (using the same hedge as my full throttle point!).

(Do please note that I was not going sideways, or anywhere near, when going round this corner, just normal driving).

Overall, for such a simple and cheap upgrade to a car it has made a remarkable difference and I am really very surprised (and impressed). Its such a shame Honda didn't include a better air filter in the first place, engineers much get very frustrated with accountants...!

I guess the next thing is to see how long the filter lasts!

the reason we waited so long was due to very poor support from forum members ,people signed up for the filter then did not pay,if it wasnt for the forum you would not have been able to buy the filter as pipercross had no plans to manufacture one

I'm sure jrt is grateful, if as you say, Pipercross only manufactured this filter as a result of the group buy on this forum.

As he says though, it is not his fault he didn't take part in the group buy purely because it was well underway, and the order had been placed, by the time he became aware of it.

Javorb you are making youself look silly now.I have already explained myself and other members agree with my points.
It seems to me you require a little more recognition for your efforts in sorting this out.If i had your address i would send you a Blue Peter badge

I will say again I DID NOT TAKE PART IN THE GROUP BUY BECAUSE I SAW THE THREAD AFTER YOU HAD SORTED IT ALL OUT.
I bought one direct so i did not get accused of reaping the benefits as you say.If i wanted to reap the benefit i would of paid less off you for one.
Now take the large chip off your shoulder and move on.
I am grateful for your efforts as i have done a similar thing in the past with K&N on my previous car.
I did not Lambast anyone who dared to buy one from K&N direct after my group buy
I took my enjoyment out of getting something on the market that Forum members could enjoy on their cars.

Just been on a long drive this weekend from Bolton to Workington and back through the lakes & I definitely noticed a difference. It picked up quicker, was smoother in accelerating and the average MPG went up from the usual 50-52 up to 56-57 so i'm very happy with my purchase!!

Can I order a filter from here right now or is this finished? How much are they delivered to Scotland?

My car is needing a service soon so I reckon instead of changing the normal filter for a bog standard one I can get one of these. I take it from the website these are supposed to last nigh on forever?
