Ipod Connector
Looking for a price for the Ipod connection kit for a Type S Civic please.
Notice you have one on your ebay page for £129.99 - any chance of a discount for a civinfo member ?? And yes, I do realise the limitations in terms of functionality of the ipod interface........ |

Exactly, The whole point of the iPod interface is to allow you to use the steering wheel controls to change tracks on our iPod, so that you can do it without taking your eyes off the road. In order to have full control of your iPod, you would need to have the track information on a display which could mean that you would have to take your eyes off the road to change to a new album.
I haven't got my new Civic yet, but I have ordered it with the iPod connector and I don't anticipate having any problems with it. My current car has an iPod Aux in connector that plugs into the headphone socket, but the iPod is tucked out of the way and I just let it run through a playlist. In my new Civic I will have the ability to change tracks and even change to a different play list without scrabbling about looking at my iPod to find the right one. OK, so the playlists have to be called Honda1, Honda2 etc, but they have to be called something and you are not restricted from adding more for use away from the car. I also believe that the system can cope with more than 99 tracks, but the track display will go back to 01. This is probably a limitation of the head unit not the iPod system, as it thinks that there is a CD changer connected and CDs can only have 99 tracks. |

Would have been nice if the CD player supported AAC files too, it's been a right pain converting the songs in iTunes to MP3, so that I can burn them to CDs for the days when I forget my iPod. |
