My dad owns an Accord Type S (and myself also) that has a sport suspension. I really like the way it drives but at high speeds the civic sticks on the corners much better than accord. It migh be just a personal feeling. In any case when you drive an Accord in Long journeys you will understand the difference on the quality build of the two cars. I've driven BMW's and Mercedes. None feels like Accord.

As much as I would have liked an Accord it's in the Mondeo class which means heavy depreciation, possible future VED hikes, and as has already been mentioned, less room in the garage.

Each time they produce an updated model they increase the size. I bet if you measured a new Civic up against a 10 year old Accord there would be little difference in the footprint.

Our trusty spaceship bucked that trend - it is shorter than the last one!!

I had an Accord 2.2 EX and I do miss it but only because of the comfort on long journeys. It was a very nice car and I had all of the toys and gadgets I could have wanted and it was very comfortable. My Type R is much more fun to drive and I don't have the sat nav/hft that I had in the Accord but dont miss them as not doing the miles now. I do miss the Electric Sunroof though just a shame this isn't available as an option on the Civic.

Still after a month with the Type R wouldn't go back to the Accord it's just so much more fun to live with

I'll be seriously looking at the new Accord when I come to change my Type R. It's a shame that we wont be getting the coupe. I don't really need anything that big, but fancy something comfortable to glide over our iffy roads.

There's quite a price difference between the Civic and the Accord, especially if you want a big engine and gadgets.

I'd be very tempted to get one from Bob Gerrard next(Bob Gerard Limited - Home | Used Daihatsu | Used Honda | Used Honda Leicester | Used Daihatsu Leicester)...the discounts are huge. I think they are Cyprus imports. Anybody had any dealings with them?

Well I get the best of both worlds, I have the 2.2 iCDTi Exec with Sat Nav the good lady has 1.8 Civic ES. They are very different cars the Accord great for our holidays in France pretty good MPG and I was surprised only £115 road tax. The Civic great round town and when you want some fun and again good MPG on a run.
