Warning light on start-up?

Hi folks.

Something strange is going on with my Accord.

Not all the time, but enough to make me write this:

Upon firing the car up, just as the engine turns over the 1st few times, I am getting a yellow warning light flashing up really quickly in the computer screen (where your mpg, average speed etc is) along with a single chime.

It flashes that quickly I can't even see what it is. It looks like a (P) or a (!) but I can't be sure. It's on/off like lightening.

My handbrake isn't on by the way.

I have changed my settings to show fault information with the screen, yet no fault is being registered or stored that I could see using my "i" button.

Any suggestions guys? Is it just a glitch?

It's normal. Mine does it and on questioning they all do it!

This morning, the letters "VSA" and "check system" flashed up on starting up.

It seems to be a different alert everytime. If I turn the car off and start it again, sometimes nothing happens at all.

It is really annoying, as the problem wasn't there before.......

Does it get worse with cold/damp weather I wonder....?

I get the VSA light and check system sometimes when stsrting. It happens about 10% of the starts. I assume it is checking the VSA and immediately goes off as all is OK. The number of lights that come on and go off differs everytime the car is started.

Dont forget that all the warning lights will come on momentarily at start up as a system check...

I took my Accord down the my local dealership in Stockton this morning. I wanted them to look at a few niggles before the service due next month.

One of them was this ongoing problem with warning messages upon start-up. The technician looked at it and said it shouldn't be happening.

They re-set the software and it has cured the problem.
