CRV Pricing
It's new car time and I went into Parks Honda today to get pricing for a new CRV ES. I don't have much of a deposit but offered 10% of the list price. I was quoted PCP finance over 36 mths with a GFMV of around £7000, the actual price of the CRV was identical to the list price (minus my deposit) with no discount whatsoever. To make matters worse the APR must have been around 19.9%. I didn't find out as the payments were written on a piece of paper while the sales guy was on the phone, but I'm working it out from how much they wanted each month. I just stated the monthly payments were far higher than I was willing to pay
Looks like the credit crunch is affecting everyone except for them. I went to a Ford dealer and got a good discount and overall offer on a Kuga (inc a couple of options) that makes the CRV look way too expensive when the list price for both cars is similar. Any opinions on whether this is normal ? |

I had a glossy brochure through the post from my local dealer this week.
Admitedly not quite what you were after, but the deal was for a 2.2 SE+ Needs 35% deposit and payments over 2 years (£540), but at 0% so there are definately deals out there! Might be worth checking with the dealers on this forum to ask what sort of deals they can do, especially if you're not looking to PX Good luck! |

Thanks for the reply.
I went back today and got the price below. 09 CRV ES 2.2CTDi, £20396 after an £1800 deposit 48 payments of £448 per month with a GFV of £5159 = £26,663 CRV EX 08 2.2CTDi, 4000 miles £18990 Less a deposit of £1200, that gives £17790. 42 payments of £385.44 with a GFV of £6800 = £22984 Is it just me or does that seem extremely high ? |

they do seem a bit high...
My local dlr has (apparently) 08 2.2 EXs from £17,995 (don't know what mileage though) and '58 2.2 ES at £16,995 might be well worth looking on the Honda approved site too... |

You could save £2000 here Broadspeed New Honda CR-V 2.2, New Honda CR-V 2.2 i-CDTi ES UK Discount Car prices, Cheap New Honda CR-V Dealer Prices, Import and I'm sure you could find similar.
Might help your negotiations? |

Thanks.
What's really getting me is the lack of any incentive to buy the car, no discount, no freebie extras. I was looking through the Herald motor pages and the Parks BMW garage next door to the Honda one is offering very good deposit contributions. It's made worse because a Ford dealer offered me a £3K+ discount on an 09 Kuga Titanium w/parking sensors without me even having to argue. The 08 CRV is the same price, except the Kuga is a 2 yr PCP and the CRV 3.5 yrs! |

Try Phoenix Honda (I am afraid that I do not rate the Kuga just a pumped up C-Max - but each to their own) make the dealers aware that you are shopping around and push them for a good deal.

Thanks to everyone for the info so far.
Regardless of my liking the Kuga I think it's good for comparison with a CRV as both are about the same size and spec/list price are similar. Even if it's not good for comparison, it's what my wife and I have narrowed it down to as far as 4x4's go. Going by the deals at Phoenix for an 08 CRV EX they're not any better than what I was quoted, both price and the finance offer are similar. Edit. Done a bit of internet browsing and came up with a new CRV ES @ £18,204 inc delivery & 1 yr road tax. Would a 1 year old EX be worth the same price as a new ES ? That was wrong. It's not the diesel engine, it's the 2.0 VTEC. Pricing is correct though.

In that case, pricing seems higher still - the petrol models are usually a bit cheaper than the diesel
CRV prices do seem to vary all over the place though. I was looking at Arnold Clark site after someone else's post... Their prices range from £14K for a '57 2.2 ES (30K miles) through £16K for a 2.0 ES (1,500 miles) to £20K for an '08 2.2 EX with full aero pack and optional wheels. |

That's what I'm thinking, at that price it should defintiely be a diesel. The thing is, I don't want to buy a car from a dealer that's miles away but it looks like I'll have to if I go for a CRV.
I'm looking at Arnold Clark's site just now. I'd dismissed them as my brother had hassle with them, as did one of my mums friends but I suppose an 08 plate car is still under Honda warranty if anything does go badly wrong. |

They have certainly had mixed reviews...
I would suggest that another option would be to contact some of the dealers on this forum, or look in the Wiki in the dealer section for owner reviews. Whilst it may end up in a bit of a journey, you should be able to rely on a fair appraisal of the CRV. Although the p/x deal might be more awkward. |

Thanks again. I'm not too concerned about the part exchange any more. It's only £800 - £1200 so I wouldn't mind keeping the old car so that we had 2 after I get a new one.
Saw a nice one on the Arnold Clark website |

RHD CRV's at the docks. That i'd like to see. Why would they be there when they are built in swindon? They don't build them there and store them at export docks. Also funny that seeing as there aren't that many in on general release to the dealers.

Just a double check.
Is the 08 CRV EX the same spec as the one in the 09 brochure I'm looking at ? For instance 18" alloy wheels. Leather upholstery. Voice recognition DVD Satellite Navigation. Integrated Bluetooth ® Hands Free Telephone system (HFT).† Rear view parking camera. Auto headlights.Panoramic glass roof - does this have a blind or something to block the sun from shining on the kids ? Heated front seats. 8 way power-assisted driver seat with lumbar support. Premium stereo with subwoofer. Rain sensing windscreen wipers. |
