Then I would go for a 235/55/18
lowers the car a bit and the speedo meter is a bit more accurate
Would look nicer too I think...

There's no problem replacing the 225/60/18s with 235/55/18s ?
The car's leased and as this set has lasted me just over 18 months then it'll be going back to Honda / dealer with these tyres on it.

Ordered 2 x Dunlop ST30s, the same as the car came with 225/60/18. Keeps the rear and front the same type. Only tyres offered by Honda dealers around here are the Pirelli P7s.

I have the Continental M&S tyre on my CRV, after extensive snow testing I can conclude they work very well however they seem to be very temperature sensitive, as soon as temps drop below -5 grip on the same surface falls off sharply. You can still get around but it is noticeable, I suppose thats the compromise for all season.

Hi all

I've been waiting for the Michelin Latitude to be in stock anywhere in Portugal since November, and got tired of waiting (and really need to change) and opted for the Yokohama Geolander G051 225/60 R18 100H for €160+VAT each.

First impressions on the Yokohama are very positive. Rolling noise that I was used to with the Dunlop Grandtrek ST30 is completely gone. Also on roundabouts where the Dunlops made a lot of noise (squealing?) are now completely silent with the Yokohama's. Ride comfort is somewhat better (considering that I'm using the same tire pressure and nitrogen as was on the Dunlops). Grip is better, although I've only had the chance of testing with 30+ Celsius.

I've had some pics taken when I changed the tires

Thanks for the report... interesting, Blackcircles have these at £141 inc. fitting as far as I can see, bargain.

I can't take the 'pig squealing' Dunlops much more but are tied to using Kwikfit and its all they stock so they would replace with more of them..arghh!!

At that price I might get Yoko's independently on my own money.

Cheers.

PS I can't find what all these abreviations mean.. I know M&S is mud & snow, but H/T-S? (highway, track and snow maybe?) anyone know?

Upping an old topic,
How about these michelins? Better than the stock dunlops?
Can't choose between the michelins and dunlops so users experience would be nice

Done a few 1000's on new Yokohama Parada Spec-X (M&S) tyres and although took a while to bed in, I would certainly have them again.

Easily the quietest tyre I have had on my CR-V, ride is pretty smooth, grip is good, no squealing, seems fine in the wet, noise increases in standing water as the big centre groove pumps hard. Turn in is sharp. Only thing that could be improved is 90mph+ directionality! gets a touch vague. Not a deal breaker though. Added bonus is the rim protection is good.

I believe that the Michelin Latitude Tour HP are a little bit quieter than the Dunlop ... but I just put a set of Michelin Latitude Sport on mine and there's a huge difference (very quiet and good grip even on the wet).

The only drawback is that this is a pure road/summer tyre (I don't mind as I have a set of winter tyres) but if you look for an all-season tyre, the Latitude Tour is probably a good choice.

My Honda dealer told me anyway that the Dunlop are out-of-stock ... and I don't know if they still make them as Honda chose the Latitude Sport for the new CR-V.

Anyone tried the Nankangs in the 18 inch wheels? My wife just bought a 3rd generation CRV with those tyres on the front. They look good to me, and I was thinking about getting those tyres for my CRV.

I had nankangs on my prelude, not bad for the price, but very poor in the wet.

Every set of Nankangs I've had the displeasure of experiencing have been terrible tyres. The true definition of the phrase ditchfinders.

I opted for my usual Dunlop ST30s again instead.

Yes. They seem to be the most common tyre here in that size. Generally if you want any other tyre in that size, you have to have them ordered in specially.
