2007 CDTi - Clutch Warning
I purchased my 2007 CDTi eleven months ago with a 12 month Honda extended quarantee included, it had done 24,700 miles.
I tow a caravan with it, and noticed twice that whilst reversing with the caravan on a smell came from the clutch. It has now done 34,500 miles. I took the car into my Honda dealer who replaced the clutch under the quarantee. It appears my clutch had gone earlier than other cars because I tow with it, thus imposing a greater load on the clutch plate. I was told a newer part number clutch had now been fitted which should not go again. I was one month inside the guarantee expiry date, if I had not towed with the car it could well have gone just outside the guarantee period, and I would have had a £665 bill! Beware.................... |
