Roof bars

Hi All,

Am looking to get roof bars for mk 2 CRV. Just wondering if anyone has ever fitted generic bars which fly over the roof rail plastic, or whether you have to get crv specific ones?

When I say roof rail, I just mean a small plastic ridge for fitting of roof rails, I dont have the actual rails themselves.

These plastic ridges have three removable plastic covers, beneath which I guess are connections for roof rails or roof bars.

Am slightly bemused at the moment by the 10001 options available so any advice welcome.

follow up question....if you have to use the set conneciton locations on the roof rail, that means the rails are at a set width, does that no kind of restrict which roof boxes you can get since the roof boxes will have brackets at certain spacings...

oh, am I being dim?

I'm not sure how it works on your CRV, but I have Thule bars for my 2008 CRV.

To fit them you take off the 4 plastic covers, there are 2 bolting points under each cover and you attach the bars to these, I don't have the rails.

The Thule bars work really well and are quick to fit, takes me about 15 mins.
