Tyre Options for UK 2007 CRV - 225/60 R18

As per the title I'm really struggling to decide on what tyres to get for my CRV in the UK.

Size: 225/60 R18

The dimensions don't give many options. I had pretty much decided on the following;

Yokohama Geolandar HT S G051

But my order was cancelled and there isn't any stock in the UK.

The other options I have are

Dunlop Grandtrek ST30
Pirelli P7
Michelin Latitude Tour HP
CONTINENTAL 4X4 CONTACT
Falken Ziex ZE-912
Pirelli P6 Four Seasons

Is there anything else I might have missed? I can't warrant a set of winters and summer tyres so need an all season. Please suggest what would be best or some other tyres I should look at?

Any help appreciated!

honda are doing deals on winter tyres with rims, any honda dealer should be able to give you a price.

I would personally recommend the dunlops as these are the OE tyre

I would probably go for the Michelin or Continental

I have 235 55 18 Geolanders on my 07 crv. The car drives perfectly well. I guess the ride maybe slightly harder due to smaller side walls but it's fine by me.

Rolling radius is about the same as standard. Speedo reads about 2mph slow which is ok.

There was loads more choice in tyres at this size. Got mine from Black Circles next day delivery.

Hallelujah, let the bells ring out, light the beacon fires and launch the fireworks...

Finally got some new tyres on and got rid of the SQUEALING PIGS from Dunlop Grandtrek, hated , hated , HATED them. Free at last to go around a corner at least 50% of the CRV's ability without being stared at like a car thief..

Hooray! Hooray! hooray!

got some Continental Contacts 225/60/18 and they will NOT squeal at all, overall the actual grip is about the same as the Dunlops so not exactly super sticky but OK. Noise and ride comfort are also about the same, shame no improvement in the Honda's downfall, Road noise hohum.

Feels nice and crisp steering now , but new tyres always do, time will tell. Slightly alarmed at how shallow the tread looks on these from new, can't imagine it lasting too well (Dunlops did 21K miles to 2mm), oh well not my problem as tyres are covered in the lease

A Happy Bunny! does it show?

Just a quick update now the tyres are bedded in - the Continental Contacts are hugely better than the Dunlops Grantreks. Took a while to get a feel for lateral grip as they are more 'pointy' so feel a bit more edgy but have now found the limits and have good confidence in them, they only protest with sound when they are supposed to - when pushing too far! Well worth every penny of the extra £10 each.

now funnily enough i've just changed from pirelli p7's to dunlop grantreks all round and I've found that on one of my most embarrassing supermarket car park surfaces the dunlops no longer screech like a banshee, unlike the pirellis.

Drive with the window open? (easier to hear).. seriously funny isn't it?

Since dumping the Grandtreks I am considering having the car remapped as I have a lot more confidence in the handling to cope with more pace!

Yes, clutch smells just from doing a shuffle in a tight car park!

Don't know who to go to for a 'modest' remap, don't want to max it, 180bhp and 380-400nm torque would be plenty to keep all those annoying 2.0tdi Golfs out my hair.

Has anyone tried or heard of these tyres
Yokohama PA02 SPEC-X

National tyres have them listed and they seem to get good reviews on Rav4s in the states as below.

Mine quoted £1175 for winter tyres and steel rims.......................sheesh if that's a deal, I'd rather not

I would be interested as well to have some feedback ... it looks like the Yoko Geolandar are gone at the same time?

Well AoS, looks as if no one has tried these Yokos as yet!

Sillygoose, As you have recently changed to the Conti's I wondered if they give a better ride than the Dunlops. I know you said the noise level was no different to the Dunlops, but I wondered after having cover a few more miles would you say they are quieter or more comfortable.

PS, I prefer the CRV to a Skoda as well!!
