Winter Tyres

Hi there,

I have a 2003, CRV 2.0 Vtec. Nice car but steering feels really light. I thought I might put some winter tyres on ( part worn if poss ) but I am confused..

Whenever I look on the forums it always seems to mention 225/70/R15's ( and sometimes 235's ) but the tyres that I have been fitted to mine are 205/70/R15's..

could this be the problem, have I got the wrong tyres on..

what are the factory fitted sizes for this model/year ?

Finally, any ideas on the best bet for a good second hand winter tyre and can I fit just two rather than four..

Avoid part worn tyres,remember there part worn for a reason!!!and fitting two tyres causes the car to oversteer giving more chance of loosing the back end!!

Thanks for that.. but I' not sure part worn necessarily is bad...just because a tyre has 4-6mm on it and you are only going to drive it for a 2000 miles over winter ?

According to blackcircles.com the tyres for your vehicle are 205/70R15 T, so it looks like you have the correct ones.

I have seen on a number of forums that the 215/65/R15 is well recommended with winter tyres .. any thoughts..

All I am looking for is a set of good winter tyres ( by the sound of it x4 ) and I do understand about the other comment but I am not too bothered about part worn as long as its at least 4mm

anyone know where to go for these ?

Let me just say I am more than happy to pay for new winter tyres as long as they dont break the bank !
