squealing disc brakes on 08 reg CRV

Hi, anyone experienced squealing discs? Had new pads fitted but made problem worse. Any ideas/suggestions appreciated

Were the anti-squeal shims fitted onto the new pads?

Honda has a fix for this (not sure what it is but they did something on my wife's CR-V and it worked).

I had a spell of squealing, and the discs & pads only had about 5k on them so knew they were likely ok.

After a few sharp brake bursts to re-bed them, it's gone away

I had an anti squeal kit fitted under warranty when the car had about 6K miles on it and it did silence the brakes. The squeal came back at 20K but new brake pads solved the problem, as they were 70% worn.

Thin strips on the back of the pad that reduce the squeal.

Here's an image - it's the silver bit attached to the pad in this example but on my EBC pads they're dark grey.
