![]() It’s nice to aim for good fuel economy, but the owner of this 1992 Civic CX took things to a new level. Through the use of various “aerodynamic” baubles and bolt-ons, he’s reportedly been able to bring the car’s fuel economy up to around 95 mpg. With a little over $400 and 250 hours invested, it’s certainly a homemade project - but reportedly an aerodynamically efficient one. After fitting various aluminum and Lexan panels, forming a new nose cone, tail, and wheel skirts, the owner - who identifies only as “Basjoos” - claims the aerodynamic drag exhibited by the Civic is down from the stock .34 cD to .17 cD. If the mileage and aero claims are true, it’s certainly a boon - although the cosmetic appearance is an odd cross of vehicles from Mad Max and Demolition Man. Would you sacrifice aesthetics - and perhaps some comfort - all in the name of ludicrous fuel savings? Sound off below. +AutoBlog Green: 95 mpg Civic More... |
