Robbie is right, however.....

The guys I have bought a few of these kits on also do the gateway 100 with the optional bluetooth adapter. The items I bought were:

Gateway 100 £104.96 (includes cable, dont select dock)
Passive Cradle (for charging) £29.97
Brodit Bracket £19.95

The addon bluetooth is another £44.65 but is currently out of stock (and has been since I have been using these guys)

Great service, both orders have been with us next day!

I would reccommend the parrot 3100. Great piece of kit! heard the 3200 is good aswell although some problems with the colour screen (thats the only difference between the 3100 and 3200...)

Hi Fuzion,

Seen how u have the bluetooth adaptor- when you receive calls where does it display? only on the iphone? or on the car display? Is there full userbility on the steering wheel with accepting/declining calls?

Hi Robbie,

I didnt go for the bluetooth adapter as I have the HFT kit. I just added it to the list as pc323 asked about it. It is the only setup I have seen that is complete all from the same supplier (and country looking at the starting post!)

Can someone confirm whether you can have simultaneous use of the iphone screen for music selection, and track skip with the steering wheel controls?

It's not clear from reading the above. I know that the older ipods with a click wheel get locked out when you have the steering wheel controls enabled.

Hi Squirrelz

Yes you can (which can be annoying if you have someone like my girlie in the car!!)

I have mounted my cradle so that I can turn the phone on its side so that I can use the album view. I will go get a couple of pics in a moment and post them on here so you can see.

Hi mate,

I'm a bit confused by one thing you wrote here - did you still need to order the 'Y' cable from the states as per the original set up on this post, or is the 'cable' you mention in your shopping list from ipodcarkitdirect the same thing?

Cheers.

Hi,

The 'Y' cable is included in the set that I bought. So you dont have to wait for one to come from the states!!

Hi Guys

My dension 100 arrived today, im a little confused as the cable supplied with it has 3 connectors -

1 for connecting to the dension 100
1 male connector for into the headunit
1 female connector (i presume to replicate the headunit one the male connector takes up)

Does this mean the Y-cable i ordered from the states is not needed?!?!

Many thanks in advanced

Hi Mark996, im in southampton. I fitted the kit myself following the instructions used in the 1st post. I was a bit nerve racking taking apart my new type r but it all went back together alright!

If you are ordering the gateway 100 from the link in the 1st post you will not need the y-cable as dension have modified their cable so it has a replicator already wired in. When taking the car apart the bits of trim need quite a tug to get the clips out, and to get the gear lever surround off you need to pull it from the top first, it works best if you use a flat head screw driver to lever the trip up by the little storage compartment. This took me quite a while to work out!

Any questions just let me know.

Have I read that right. Are you saying that the Dension 100 now comes with the necessary wiring to wire it into the EX without an additional Y-Cable, allowing you to plug the Dension and the Sat-Nav audio plug into the AUX port on the back of the headunit?

Yes that is how mine came. The dension cable had a replicator on it so i could plug the sat nav cable into that. I have a type r with sat nav and have fitted the dension 100 myself all i needed was the dension 100 and the mount plate.

The y cable is sat on my table at home unused. If you need one when yours turns up let me know and ill let you have it for £15 (cheaper than the american shop). Although i would imagine yours will be the same as mine in which case you wont need it.

As my previous responce, my dension 100 (ordered a week ago) came with a replicator already wired onto the dension cable so the y-cable is not needed even if you have sat nav.

Another point to make is that this seems a more expensive way of doing things. If you buy the dension 100 and ask for the cradle (its no extra cost) then you dont have to order a seperate passive cradle. The dension cradle DOES charge your ipod/iphone. (by the way if you order from chamillion then they ring you up to ask which you would prefer)
