Can the denison 100 unit be used to play video off and ipod onto the screen also? (it mentions an extra adapter that you can get)

Will the denison 300 unit be a better fit?

How much more difficult would this be to setup? I have seen a few posts where av connectors have been integrated into the glove box and whatever.

Is there a solution that just connects using the ipod dock connector and allows for video and audio?

Hi,

I have also noticed the AV Extender accessory for the Dension Gateway 100. Does anyone know if this would work and would it be easy to install? i.e. would it just plug in to the back of SatNav Screen with maybe a splitter cable or convertor? Would be good to watch my Video Podcasts on the SatNav screen from my iPod touch while I'm on breaks.

My Second question relates to Fuzion's post at the top of page 2 in this thread. I am a little confused as to what I need to buy to fully install my iPod Touch. I know I need the Gateway 100 unit and the Brodit ProClip Bracket. But, do i need to choose one of the options of either the active cable or dock cable when I buy the gateway 100 unit? Or is the Passive cradle all I need?

Alternatively, if I got the Active Cradle, doesd this hold the iPod Touch? Can it be swivelled for watching videos or using album art mode? Would I still need the Passive Cradle or the Brodit ProClip Bracket?

I want to order all the correct bits soon but don't want to end up with parts I don't need to end up sending them back.

hi guys. Been mulling over these post' for a while now! Can anyone tell me that the gateway 100 is the best route to go down to play my iphone/iPod in my ex. Just concerned about the installation side of things also!

Not done it yet. Been in Amsterdam all week and I bought off ebay for it to arrive yerestday. The guy had emailed to say its sold out and is offering me the DICE system instead. Hmmmmmmmm not sure lol

Gateway 100 + iphone 3g UPDATE!!

If you have just upgraded your iphone to 3G you will have noticed that the 3G iphone does not charge in the cradle. I have sent an email to Dension to find out if there will be a solution.

Hi there,

I did some digging on this, looks like the Dension 100 charges the iPod through the Firewire pins which has been disabled on the new iPhone 3G (you need to charge with the USB pins)

This thread says that they are offering a new blue cable which will fix this:

Dension Gateway and iPhone 3G | Mobile Tech Addicts

Apparently if you have a Dension 300 this should not be an issue. (that's the one I am looking to get anyway)

That link doesnt exist. There are a few cradles out there that can accomodate the iphone. Have a search on here for "iphone" and "Dension".

I guess you don't need a 'parot" , you can use the speaker phone function on your iphone.

Speaker function is no where near as good on the iphone when not using a parrot. The parrot was the only option for me really. Best quality and volume.
