[HOW TO] Fit Tegiwa Airbox

Hello

This is not my How To, but instructions sent by Tegiwa themselves so all thanks is to them.

Civic 07-11 (FN/FK etc)
Airbox

Tools needed:
  • Ratchet with extension and 10mm socket, 10mm spanner
  • Cross head screwdriver
  • Pliers, flat head screwdriver, copper grease

  • To fit this you will need to remove the front bumper, so the first part of this guide focusses on this. If you have a Tegiwa screw-in tow hook you will need to remove this first. Firstly you need to remove the clips and the screw from the arch extensions. It is hard to photo from the underside but here is it pulled apart.

  • When the clips and screw are removed, unclip the arch extension by pulling it out to the side until you can see this screw holding the bumper on.

  • Undo this screw, and repeat the other side. Next go under the car and remove the bolts and clips under the bumper. Again, here is a picture of it off the car to make it easier to show:

  • Remove the bumper from the car by pulling it firmly away from the car, out to the sides first then off the front as shown in the pictures below. Take care to unplug the fog lights before you pull it away from the car.

  • Place the bumper on something soft while you fit the kit.
  • Remove your factory resonator (big black box on the passenger side) and fit the new intake tract like so.

  • Next remove your scuttle panel by removing the 3 clips and pulling it away. This is a bit fiddly around the brake reservoir so take care not to crack or break anything. You will need to pull off the the washer hose at the join.
  • Next remove the silver metal plate by removing the 6 bolts. Again take care removing this from around the brake reservoir.

  • Remove your factory air box by removing the 10mm bolt at the passenger side of the air box and pulling it up off the 2 rubbers. Remove the intake hose and take car to remove the connector and clip from the MAF sensor on the air box.
  • Build your Tegiwa air box up like so. Note, this box has had optional Tegiwa dress up bolts fitted as well as the Tegiwa intake hose. Swap over your MAF sensor from your standard air box, as well the rubber bush and boss for the 10mm bolt.

  • Refit this back into the car, plugging the sensor back in. The hose can be a struggle to fit but it will go on. While the bumper is still off make sure to line up the intact track with the link pipe, and the link pipe with the airbox.
  • Refit the metal tray, plastic scuttle panel and rubber trim. Don’t forget to reattach your washer hose, or it will spray everywhere the next time you use it.
  • Refit your bumper and arch extensions, this is much easier with a friend to help you.

If you have any questions about this or any of our other products please email us on info@tegiwaimports.com and we will be happy to help.

I will try and tidy up the How To when i have chance.

Regards

Whisky
