Yeah, like when you upgrade the FW to a divx player. You burn an .img file on a blank CD, you insert it and wait until it is ejected automatically. Some information could be shown in the screen.

Just done the check, got 0337 38. Rang Yeoman Honda Littlehampton who have never done one before. They checked their screen, found the relevant Honda notice and have ordered the Upgrade CD Pack to do a warrantee upgrade for me. Honda allow them 30 minutes. Presumably 5 to insert CD and do the business and 25 to valet the car.

BTW They told me Honda doesn't deal with Transform Leather any more.

Mine too.

Has been a post on here regarding poor earthing of the multi-stranded ariel wire from the HU to the antenna.

Thinking about try to find a dealer to look at that.
Might wait till the handbrake recall though.

If they forget to remove the CD, do let us know since I could sort it so others here don't have to waste Honda's money by visiting the dealer for the upgrade...

Will do. But think of the car valet you'll miss out on. It's about the only time my vehicles get a vacuum clean.

Mine is in on Sat - could be poor earthing as it appears a bit intermittent (though could be different radio reception due to pressure). Not since a 1988 Metro has I had such poor radion reception.

Alan - it sounds like you have the earthing fault, since when it is working the reception is really very good.

I had a firmware upgrade to level 0637 01 and it dramatically improved the RDS function on the radio.

Strange - I have had the 'They are all like that' response before, but the loan car one was much better, I went back over the same roads in mine when I collected it to confirm it under the same atomspheric conditions!!!

When I went to the dealers, they checked and reseated the radio connections and said if I have any more problems, they will order a new head unit for me. Radio reception did appear better this morning on the way to work, but we have high pressure currently, so I will have to wait and see.

Got my radio "done" yesterday. The checks now produce 05 3738 was 03 3738 before the fix. Took nearly an hour and that didn't include a valeting.

When I took the car in average mileage read 51.4mpg, after they 'fixed' the radio it read 31mpg, the lowest I've ever seen. Either they drove at a million miles an hour - which I can understand - or around town in first gear for an hour.

As for the radio, I think I detect a slight improvement in reception.

They left the engine running. Had the same thing when the car was in having the dash plastics replaced.

Had time to go for a long drive today and can confirm the radio firmware upgrade definitely improves reception.

Usually, the Lewes by-pass ruins all radio reception, even with an external aerial, but my "new improved" radio managed to keep playing the News Quiz on FM with minimal interference. That's better than any car I've had since 1978 (Viva SL90).

Must remember to buy a new car before they switch off FM because digital radio reception in the Brighton area is rubbish.

First post as a new user - hello to all.

I have not had many complaints about my new 2.2 EX 57 plated (but '08 mob) but as i have read many time the radion is just pants!!!

I checked the firmware on the radion and it says 0637 hmm but the reception is still poor.

Has anyone ever changed the antenna?

After complaining again and again, my dealer has changed the Head Unit and the new one has firmware 05 3737, the reception is still not what I would call great, but is noticably better than before.

Correct there is a cd which will upgrade the software.
There are 2 types of cd depending on the firmware within the radio to start with.
