can you do a dimmer by putting a capacitor to this footwell light connection? or do you need something else too?

Flat LED strip lights are now 12" long -15LEDs

Credit to daiashthomas for this. He's incorporated a dimmer.

I think the dimmer runs off the cig lighter (I'd imagine)
My plan at the moment is to connect the strip lights, up to the glovebox light using a dimmer which will sit just inside the glovebox; as once it's set I don't see myself playing with it much.

I was thinking about an automatic dimmer: when you turn the leds off, the leds would dim automatically...

auto dim

I'm already working on an auto dim. It's quite simple but not complete yet.
I have a 5V bistable relay. Without power, it connects the leds to the cig lighter's wire. The relay gets the power from the interior lights. So when the interior light's power reach the 5V, the relay turn on, and connects the leds to the interior lights.
The only problem is, that I'll have to use some kind of condenstator for the relay because when the light is dimmed, I can here the noise of the dim from the relay. (It's because honda interrupts the power with a lower and lower frequency when dimming the lights.)
But I'm going to finish it soon I hope. Any idea would be good also.

Is there any easy way to connect these blue footwell lights to the interior lights? So that the footwell lights would stay on when the interior lights are off?

I just finished fitting my blue led strip lights to my footwell. Ordered from Neoquip (Flat LED strip lights are now 12" long -15LEDs)
Now waiting for night to see how good they look.

I run the wires to the switch on the centre console where the Heated seat switches go. I used a dremmel to cut the switch opening.

I passed the wire from the glove box light down the back of the glove box and run them under the centre console housing. Nice andd neat.

Thanks for the walkthrough. worked a treat

Next job parking sensors.
