No, I see it... Thank you.

I just want to know if the Honda dealership can fix this permanently because the DIY above looks to be a temporary fix and will come back.

Apparently there is an official Honda fix which is the same as the DIY fix on this thread, except they use a bit of felt instead of trim repair tape.

Only when I told my dealer about this fix they couldn't find any mention of it in their computer.
When I got my car back from them they said they'd adjusted the plastic cowl as it was seated incorrectly. The noise was still there.

When I took the cowl off to do the DIY fix I noticed there was no evidence of them having touched the cowl. There was also a long gouge out of the glass where the cowl had been rubbing (does this affect the strength of the windscreen?).

The DIY fix looks to me to be more permanent than the official one, plus when it does loose it's effectiveness you'll be able to re-apply it without going back to the dealer.

It amazes me sometimes what the dealers will tell us to fob us off.

I have found the silicone spray sold at Halfords to be very good for curing this noise too. I lifted up the cowling slightly and sprayed plenty in to the gap, and its much quieter now.

The company that makes WD40 also makes the 3in1 silicone spray that I used.

I am sure the spray will stop the noise for a while , but suspect it will wash away next time you wash the car, or it rains or when you use the windscreen washer fluid.

I found the noise only occurred when driving fast over very bumpy roads. It is a very distinctive and worrying creaking noise that makes you think the windscreen is going to fall out or something similar. Since the tape fix I have not heard it once in @ 10,000 miles. The tape fix only takes 20 minutes to do.

I find The silicone spray is good for inside the car on the dashboard joints - it cured a few squeaks for me.

I would like to try your fix, but my hands are not very good with small objects and fiddly things, so I will have to stick to the silicone for now.

Will not last for too long I'm afraid... I've posted another method some time ago (lift the cowl, support temporarily on pieces of felt and fill the gap with "gasket" silicone). This is a bit fiddly especially the cleaning needed before applying the silicone gasket, but it will last.

I wasn't that lucky, so I did it the other way. AFAIK there is also a "factory solution" - a felt mat, but I don't know how well it would work

Mines just started creaking and cracking. Went to car and moved cowl about and it generates the exact noise I can hear inside the car. Removed cowl completely - 5 min job and cleaned grit from windscreen and cowl itself. Put back on car and no longer makes the noise. Will do a long term fix when time permits. However there was a date sticker on the cowl I guess showing date of build (25.06.0 so even new cars still have the problem. There is a nasty grey foam under the cowl that isn't thick enough so the plastic still rests on the 'screen.

It is worth opening the bonnet and removing the centre cowl to do the work. Here's the diagram from the manual, with arrows similar to the photos.
Where can I find these schematics?
