I'ved just fitted rear parking sensors, very garteful for all the info on Civic Info.
I purchased the Sensors and Paint off Ebay. Sensors, the choice is yours, but iIbought from UK supplier, its quicker £17.99 Just supply your Paint Code ( From the plate on the Passenger door pillar) Autopaint (St Helens) £10.95 gets you a 400ml aerosol and a small pot of touch up. £3.25 for lacquer, 2 or 3 light paint coats a final lacqer, job done. Very fast delivery and cheap postage. All up it cost me £37 and about 4 hours fitting time (thanks again for all the info.) Works superbly, I'm well chuffed ( Pictures attached ) |

DJG,
Excellent job, looks very nice. I am thinking of doing this myself, just waiting for the weather to change. So I might get it done this year Have you got a link to the e-bay supplier please. |

Reverse Sensor Wiring
You need get to the wiring harness connector behind the trim, near rear seatbelt upper anchorage, splice the red sensor lead into the brown harness wire using a connector as shown (All Auto shops have them).
You can connect the black to a earth bolt you will find behind the trim. For full details see the .PDF file how to fit HONDA OEM Sensors. You do need to remove a lot of trim, you have to be quite forceful in "pulling" it off, but it all goes back OK. Sorry no pictures, it was getting late when I finished the job one evening, and its all back together now. Good Luck. |

Read the whole thread, it gives you all of the info you need to do this yourself. As long as the ingnition is off and the car is not in reverse (i.e no voltage to the reversing lights) then the is no need to disconnect the battery (IMO) when connecting to the brown wire. |

Fitted mine today - fairly simple. Picked up the feed for the reverse light behind the drivers side boot trim (near rear seat belt upper anchorage point). Just hooked up the brown wire as described in this thread (which is the reverse light feed) to the red wire in the sensor kit, the black wire in the sensor kit just connected to an earthing point also found behind the trim. Simple as that for the electrics.
As for the fitting the sensors themselves, once you have the rear bumper off (take your time) you can see on the inside of the bumper guide markings for where to place the factory fitted sensors, I just used the guide for my drill location and to fit my eBay sensors, they are in the perfect place. I have a NHB Civic and the sensors come in black. I did buy some paint before the sensor kit arrived but decided not to use it when I compared the prepainted sensors to the car - they are black and an exact match.... I couldn't be happier Once fitted you cant tell the difference between the eBay ones and the genuine Honda ones - and for £17.99 fitted it does not get better!! Picked up a set of CISBO reversing sensors from eBay in preparation for the cars arrival in a week or so. Just spoke to the stealer, and the guy said he wouldn't fit the sensors for me because they were not genuine Honda ones! He said they wouldn't be able to guarantee them as they were 3rd party ones, so wouldn't fit em.
Therefore it looks like its gonna be one of my first jobs on the new car. I've read through this thread it and does seem simple enough, just the removal of the panals without breaking anything that concerns me a little. Not that difficult is it? |
