Rear door handle scratches - quick easy repair

Not sure if this is in the right section but anyway...
I bought my Civic second hand and the previous owners must have worn rings as the rear handle at one side was scratched through the black finish in numerous places.
TRY THIS ON A VERY SMALL AREA BEFORE COMMITTING TO THE FULL SCRATCHED AREA! Ensure you are happy with the result prior to continuing!

My tip is to take a good black indelible/permanent marker and gently fill in the scratches. this is shiny and stands out so next take a small amount of TCUT or similar and very gently go over the repaired area which dulls it back to the matt finish of the handle. You will find it difficult to find the scratch at all. Should the area wear off eventually just reapply as above.
