Pottsy,
After doing this to fit the connects2 adaptor, I now have a slight creak coming from around the gearstick trim when I change gear. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? |

Have the holes the spring clips go into got bigger? I find that judicious application of tank tape in critical places to tighten things up often helps.

Johan,
I just had the parrot installed and needed the extra cable to use radiospeakers, take care that you do not smash on the dash very hard, your car will not start after a big smash. The fuell pump will be blocked. I adjusted the display of the parrot next to the radio. |

The problem is that the cover is too tight fit. Simply remove those 2 metal clips and the noise is gone. The cover must have the possibility to move slightly. I tried several things, only this helped 100%. |

I got my Connects 2 box installed tonight. I'd have been lost without this site and the wiki's showing how to DIY. It's definately worth the effort getting the dash apart. most of it was easy, although, I found the top bit of trim above the stereo the scariest bit! Two clips at the back refused to budge and I had my heart in my mouth for those 5 minutes.
One big problem putting it back together though. The main trim that wraps around the centre console is attached in the footwells by round plastic rivets. The two at the passenger side won't clip back on again and I figure are unrepairable. Are these rivets easy to replace? Would a motorfactors sell generic ones or will I have to go to Honda? |

You Guys Rock! (plus two more hints on the dismantling procedure)
Here is a big THANK YOU to all who posted valuable hints, tipps, photos in this forum and the DIY guides. I would not have been able to install my Connects2 in my Civic without you. (Put it in last weekend..) What's more, I would not even have known an AUX-In solution for the Civic existed.
Btw, I found that the rivets which hold the center piece in the footwells on drivers and passengers side seem to have been changed slightly. I have a 2007 year civic. On the passengers side, there is only 1 rivet (unlock by pushing the centre piece in). On the drivers side, there is a matching one (again, unlock by pushing the centre piece), plus another one at the very back (next to the accelerator pedal). The latter one has no centre piece to unlock, and did not seem to come off at all. Took me several nightmarish minutes of twisting and pulling to slowly pull it out, never being sure whether I would break it. It has hundreds of tiny hooks which keep it in place. Second diffcult part was unclipping the triangle above the radio. Make sure you carefully work all around the front including the clips in each corner. Until the corner clips were unlocked, the back ones would not yield. One last question: where did you route the Aux cable into the car interior? Right now I have squeezed it through the plastic piece next to the cig lighter; I plan to put a proper socket into the space where the switch for the seat heater goes in the EX. This part is unused in my Civic Sport. Again, thanks for all the great info in here! Cheers Max |

I'd like to add my thanks to those that have created the "howto" guides on here.
I fitted a DICE ipod adapter at the weekend in an hour, and I'm really chuffed with it. The only mishap I had was a slight scrape on the CD/Clock display when I yanked the triangle up on the dash top. How did everyone else avoid this? Anyway, the sound quality is so much clearer than the FM transmitter I was using before and even a hell of a lot clearer than MP3 CDs. |
